Job Summary:

A Ski Patrol Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Patrol Senior Manager and Assistant Manager with Patrol operations on a daily and seasonal basis. The supervisor will oversee daily patrol functions as assigned. They will manage performance for their team in the form of mid-season and end-of-season evals, discipline, promotions, and awards with support from the Assistant Manager and Senior Manager of Patrol. A supervisor can make major operational decisions and fill major operational roles as assigned or in the absence of the Assistant Manager or Senior Manager. The entire leadership team will work together to create and maintain a strong safety and learning culture within the patrol. The patrol leadership team will work together to ensure patrol operations are aligned with best practices withing Vail Resorts and the broader industry.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $32/hr - $38/hr 

  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2025/2026  

  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available 

  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age  

  • Housing Availability: No  

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily supervision and oversight for assigned areas or projects (have a daily leadership presence in patrol operations)
  • Serve as a fully functional skiing patroller setting the standard for safety and operational excellence
  • Provide for the safety of your team members on a daily and annual basis, report injuries with patrol management within 24hrs
  • Annual performance management for your assigned team in coordination with patrol management
  • Ensure accountability for complete and timely training compliance for your team members
  • Serve as the first point of contact for members of your assigned team
  • Provide leadership support for job departments lead by members of your team
  • Assist patrol management as needed, provide leadership in any and all aspects of ski patrol and snow safety
  • Assist with recruiting and hiring new patrollers
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Colorado EMT or higher level of medical certification with focus in emergency medicine
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • English speaking, writing and comprehension
  • 21 years of age
  • Skiing and related activities, working in outdoor winter mountain weather
  • Use of explosives, exposure to noise
  • Equipment used: skis, some power tools, snowmobile
  • Advanced level snowmobile operator
  • Expert Alpine Skiing Ability
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred:

  • Greater than 6 seasons experience in Ski Patrol
  • Leadership Experience
  • Teaching Experience
  • Advanced Computer Skills
  • Colorado Type 1 Explosives Permit

 

The expected pay range is $32/hr - $38/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
