With the federal visa suspension through the end of 2020, we will not be able to pursue J-1 or H-2B visas in time for the start of 2020/21 ski and ride season. We have a great base of seasonal employees and additional strategies in place to help staff our resorts appropriately for winter. If and when the restrictions are lifted, we will pursue a limited number of international visas to support the remainder of the season.
As a result of restrictions and requirements in place due to covid, Whistler Blackcomb is not in a position to consider or offer employment to foreign workers activating new work permit on entry to Canada. We are keeping well and closely connected to our ability to do so and hope to be able to consider these candidates in future.
Vail Resorts offers a limited number of international employment opportunities per year, mostly in seasonal roles (some entry level and some skilled). Each year we hire hundreds of J1 Student Visas, which enable people from around the world to experience living and working at a mountain resort in another country. Most of the students accepted on J1 Visas partner with http://www.ccusa.com, https://www.ciee.org and http://www.workuse.com and attend job fairs in their home country, where they can meet our hiring managers and sometimes receive a job offer on the spot. We would recommend this avenue for all new J1 Students. Are you a student who has previously worked for us and wants to return for another season? Work with your previous manager to see how you can start your next adventure with us. Most of our Resorts will not accept H2B Visas, however Park City Resort in Utah does!
