Job Summary: 

The Manager of Lift Maintenance will manage the preventative, predictive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance of all lifts in a proactive, safe, and efficient manner; provide the quality and service required by regulatory agencies and maintain the standards set forth by Vail Resorts. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and successfully lead a staff of experienced individuals, enabling the highest levels of training, execution, and job satisfaction while working toward excellent team cohesion and effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the oversight and planning of all mechanical and electrical maintenance on all lifts to ensure a safe and efficient environment for Resort guests
  • Involved with many responsiblitites within the lift maintenance department including: working in the field with your team and administrative duties 
  • Supports the professional growth and development of employees across all levels of the department, including hiring, scheduling, performance management, staff development, training, and the safety of the team
  • Responsible for oversight of department budgets as well as plans for the future development and capital improvements of all lift systems
  • Ensures all lifts are in compliance with company, state, and federal rules and regulations
  • Assure that all required records are maintained and kept up-to-date. This includes, all mechanical and operational procedures, maintenance and operations logs, lift failures, and incidents and downtime logs
  • Be able to follow safety and risk management policies and procedures
  • Collaborates effectively within the Lift Electrical, Lift Operation, and other Mountain Operation departments
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications: 

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Previous Lift Maintenance experience and proven competency in general mechanics and electrical
  • Prior leadership experience and strong management skills
  • Must have or ability to obtain a valid US driver's license
  • Ability to work efficiently at heights
  • Able to work outdoors in adverse mountain winter weather conditions 
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evening shifts, overtime, etc.
  • Intermediate ski/snowboard ability preferred

 

The expected pay range is $68,546 - $80,000 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
