Job Summary: 

In this leadership role, the Swing Shift Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for supporting the Building Maintenance Manager as well as leading the day-to-day work of the Maintenance Team across both villages and base areas. Main areas of focus include Building Maintenance, Grounds Maintenance, and Snow Removal for the Resort and HOAs.

Job Specifications: 

  • Starting Wage: $24.00/hr - $35.74/hr
  • Employment Type: Year Round

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Provides day-to-day supervision and leadership of building maintenance team members
  • Performs daily work duties and tasks alongside team members and ensures all work is completed to a high standard
  • Supervises special projects and third-party vendors as necessary
  • Implements and models safety policies and procedures for the department
  • Ensures the most important work is prioritized, and can quickly adjust the team’s focus as new priorities appear
  • Utilizes work order software (Maintain X) and other technology proficiently 
  • Communicates efficiently and effectively with all stakeholders, especially HOA partners
  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external customers
  • Assists with scheduling, training, motivating and managing the performance of the maintenance team
  • Creates a culture of professionalism, accountability and alignment
  • Adheres to, models and holds employees accountable to Vail Resorts values, as well as department policies, procedures, appearance standards and safety expectations

  • Represents Manager when required
  • All other duties as required/assigned

Job Requirements: 

  • Advanced working knowledge in four of the following skill sets: Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, HVAC, Grounds Maintenance and Snow Removal. 2 years diagnostic and repair experience necessary.
  • Ability to lead and develop others on their team.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Willing and able to learn additional technology as required.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including varied hours, weekends, holidays, and on call hours.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Exposure to high noise levels with certain machinery.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English – verbal and written.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Skiing or snowboarding proficiency necessary – intermediate-level terrain skills test will be required

 

The expected pay range is $24.00/hr - $35.74/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
