Job Summary
The Ski and Snowboard School (SSBS) Senior Manager will lead all aspects of the SSBS operations at Park City Mountain. The scope of this role is large and varied and includes responsibilities around the daily, seasonal, and yearly operational processes and strategic goals specific to SSBS products/lessons. This position requires a disciplined focus on quality control, guest relations, sales generation, staff performance development, financial responsibility, communication, teamwork, administrative duties and self-development. All of these elements contribute in a significant way to the overall quality of the guest and employee experience. This position will work collaboratively with the Skier Services Senior Director, other SSBS Senior Manager, SSBS Business Manager, and SSBS Training manager to ensure all payroll, workers compensation, incident reports, staffing levels, inventory levels,disciplinary procedures, hiring and separating procedures and all other administrative functions are managed efficiently and timely. This leadership position is integral to the success of the SSBS and Park City Mountain.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coach, motivate, retain and develop an industry-leading SSBS management team. Ensure management team is aligned with the goals and values of Park City Mountain and Vail Resorts.
  • Assure that the SSBS management team coach and counsel instructors and support staff at their assigned location(s), complete direct report performance evaluations and oversee maintenance of base areas and on hill facilities
  • Create and/or maintain a one resort culture of excellence. This culture to include teamwork, collaboration, progressive thinking, and constant improvement resulting in an employee culture that attracts the best and brightest employees and motivates them accomplish great work.
  • Meet or exceed all goals for Guest Satisfaction and Employee Experience.
  • Manage program issues relating to instructor pay, guest complaints, and system efficiency. This role will manage growth and expense of programs, and will oversee daily instructor line-up
  • Ensure a consistently high level of service and competency across all SSBS base locations.
  • Demonstrate a high level of performance around the Vail Resorts Leadership competencies.
  • Partner and work collaboratively with the other managers within Skier Services departments to provide industry leading service around products and programs.
  • Proactively develop management and industry skill set by seeking out and taking advantage of educational and training opportunities.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal Park City Mountain departments to ensure a consistent and high-level experience for the guest

 

Job Requirements
  • PSIA/ASIA level 2 certification (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of SSBS leadership experience
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Component user of RPOS, including Ski School Tools, RPOS Report Shell, ProConnect and Customer Manager.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
  • Basic accounting and finance skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • PSIA/AASI Level 3 certification or equivalent
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Previous Vail Resorts SSBS location manager or greater management experience
  • PeopleSoft HR and Success Factors experience

 

The expected pay range is $75,000 - $95,000 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
