Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Transportation supports the daily operation of resort transportation services, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable mobility for guests, employees, and resort partners. This role assists with leading transportation teams, coordinating fleet operations, maintaining service standards, and driving continuous improvement in safety, guest experience, and operational performance.
The Assistant Manager serves as a frontline leader, providing coaching, direction, and support to drivers and dispatch personnel while partnering with department leadership to achieve transportation objectives and ensure seamless resort operations.

Job Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and developing transportation team members.
- Provide daily leadership, coaching, and performance feedback to drivers, dispatchers, and support staff.
- Foster a positive culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional guest service.
- Lead daily operational briefings and communicate service updates, expectations, and departmental priorities.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and recognize team achievements.
Transportation Operations
- Coordinate daily transportation schedules, routes, staffing plans, and service levels to meet operational demands.
- Monitor transportation services and proactively address service interruptions, delays, and guest concerns.
- Assist in managing fleet deployment to maximize efficiency and resource utilization.
- Partner with dispatch and resort operations teams to support special events, peak periods, and emergency transportation needs.
- Ensure transportation services operate in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all transportation operations comply with applicable federal, state, and company regulations.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections, safety audits, and operational reviews.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and service disruptions while implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure team members maintain required certifications, licenses, and training records.
- Monitor weather and road conditions and adjust operations as needed to maintain guest and employee safety.
Fleet & Asset Management
- Assist in overseeing the maintenance, cleanliness, and readiness of transportation vehicles.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules with fleet maintenance teams.
- Monitor vehicle utilization and report maintenance concerns, damage, or operational issues.
- Ensure operational equipment and transportation facilities are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional guest service by ensuring transportation services are punctual, professional, and guest-focused.
- Respond to guest feedback and resolve concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Support resort-wide initiatives designed to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Serve as a department representative and point of contact during operational events and high-volume periods.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll review, scheduling, attendance tracking, and labor management.
- Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Analyze operational metrics and identify opportunities for service improvements and cost efficiencies.
- Support budget management and departmental planning initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement. (Preferred, not required)
- Demonstrated experience safely operating passenger vehicles in snow, ice, and winter driving conditions.
- Proven ability to navigate challenging weather and road conditions while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
- Clean driving record with a demonstrated commitment to safe driving practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in transportation, hospitality, logistics, operations, or a related field.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation or dispatch software systems.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and emergency response situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in resort, hospitality, municipal, public transit, or transportation operations.
- Knowledge of fleet management and dispatch systems.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
- Experience managing union and/or seasonal workforces.
- Passion for the outdoor recreation and mountain resort industry.

The expected pay range is $25.00 -$28.60. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
