Job Summary:

Knowledge of Vail RPOS system, excellent communication skills, ability to support staff and maintain integrity in the midst of difficult situations, understand risk management and implement a safe working environment. Ability to educate staff about implementing season long program development, understand the needs of the community, ability to create lasting relationships with parents, athletes and staff, be able to ski and ride in all weather conditions. Understanding of the Outdoor Recreation industry with willingness to learn develop and grow. Ability to learn from mistakes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hires and recruit Coaching staff
  • Manage hiring pipeline for entire Teams program
  • SIS employee re-hire status and paper work
  • Interview and recruit staff for All Mountain Development Team Marketing
  • Website program descriptions and products are updated published and working in concert
  • Oversee customer service with phone calls/emails
  • Outreach to local schools
  • Employee engagement/trainings
  • Foster leadership skills for all staff so they have the tools to be successful
  • Provide trainings throughout the season that align with the Teams methodology
  • Open to listening and understanding staff needs
  • Ability to utilize staff in a way that supports personal strengths
  • Always look to increase opportunities for employee engagement
  • Communication/ DRIVN software
  • Work with software developers of DRIVN to create a communications software program that will support program needs
  • Oversee athlete program development with the Teams Director.
  • Design and input programming specific to All Mountain Teams
  • Train Coaches, Head Coaches and parents on expectations, teaching plans, evaluations, communication matrix and season long program development Teams registration
  • Processing credit cards and understanding of Vail RPOS system to run reports
  • Update athlete data in communication platform
  • Manage tuition, refunds, waitlist, inventory of athletes to staff ratio 
  • Program Development
  • Oversee the development and program implementation for 345 athletes
  • Schedule staff for 8 Teams programs
  • Manage 6 Head Coaches and 50 coaching staff
  • Foster future relationship with local schools to grow the mid-week development program
  • Understand the Teams athlete pipeline to develop future athletes and lifelong skiers and riders
  • Educate parents about Teams program: Hosting orientations, designing handbooks that define clear expectations, supporting staff to lead and handle situations in a way that develop trust from the parents and athletes 

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Ability to read/write and communicate in English.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working for a Ski and Ride School.
  • PSIA/AASI certification (preferred).
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Exceptional guest service skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.

Preferred skills:

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency with RPOS.
  • The ability to communicate in Spanish. 

 

The expected pay range is $27.00 -$32.14. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
