Job Summary:
The Manager of Keystone Resort Public Safety plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, security, and overall guest experience across resort properties. Key focus areas include driving exceptional guest service through team leadership, incident response, traffic management during peak periods, and active collaboration with local law enforcement, other First Responders, and resort departments.

 

This role requires strong operational planning, decision-making skills, and the ability to lead calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations. The ideal candidate will bring experience in security, safety, or emergency management, along with the ability to train and motivate a team in a dynamic resort environment.

  • This role provides input to establish and manage to departmental budget and manages spending to maximize revenues and profitability.
  • The Resort Public Safety Manager leads the team that conducts investigations involving company vehicles, guest injuries, thefts, suspicious activity, fraudulent activities, while also supporting public safety response, and other aspects of resort operations. The Security Services Manager maintains a working relationship with Mountain and Hospitality leaders to ensure alignment on areas of focus and ensure mutual objectives are being met.
  • Successful candidates will have a minimum 2 years relevant work experience. Guest service and emergency services related experience is preferred. Essential abilities include: ability to communicate clearly and concisely, demonstrate a consistent positive approach when interacting with the public, stakeholders and employees, verbally de-escalate tense situations involving irate guests, strong writing skills, prepare clear and concise reports. Calm, clear and independent decision making is essential, as is a professional demeanor and strong administrate background.
  • This role is responsible performance management of all department employees. They establish goals and development plans and evaluate performance for year-round direct reports. And they implement employee programs to promote safety, proactive development and support business outcomes.
  • Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions. We’re looking for a leader that will take pride in leading the team to assist other department as needed; and remains committed to everyday positive workspace culture.
  • Successful candidates will have experience managing stake holder relationships through multiple communication modes, expectation conversations, and administrative tasks.
  • The position requires shift work, including holidays, weekends and may require additional on-call work hours.

 

Additional qualification/requirements include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent - required
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License - required
  • Transfer equipment into/from vehicles, lift 50lbs – required
  • Experience in Performance Evaluation, Training Programs and Records Management – preferred
  • Working knowledge of Emergency Response, Incident Management and ICS  – preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills.
  • The ability to have emotional control in stressful situations.
  • Can display empathy & compassion under stressful conditions.
  • Strong computer skills including self-directed online applications and systems.
  • Available to work a variety of shifts – including weekends, holidays and over-night shifts.
  • May perform any and all responsibilities of subordinates, and other duties as assigned.
  • Willingness to obtain AED First Aid Training.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED training required within 30 days of hire.

 

The expected pay range is $61,000 - $72,000 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
