Job Summary:

To function as a team member within the Ski Area Building Maintenance department. Ability to make competent decisions while thinking of the customers and the resort’s interest at all times. Use skill-based knowledge to perform assigned tasks professionally at all times with a focus on efficiency and quality of work.  This position can cover many departments pertaining to repairs, upkeep, and preventative maintenance as requested.  People skills, planning, execution, control, and communication are essential in completing tasks efficiently and keeping the department informed on work status. Vail Resorts' core values are necessary to succeed in this function.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Expected Wage Range: $23.00 - $27.94 / hour

  • Housing: May Be Available

  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full-Time, Year-Round

  • Skill Level: Intermediate

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that company assets are maintained and repaired 

  • Implement preventative maintenance programs for assigned facilities and equipment.
  • Provide training to entry and intermediate maintenance staff when required in job-specific tasks.
  • Plan, scope, and coordinate projects with subcontractors when required and obtain the required estimates.
  • Order and maintain required parts for stock for critical equipment for assigned areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures and alert the supervisor to any unsafe conditions that may exist.
  • Work with other departments and area managers as required.
  • Maintain job logs updated daily.
  • Experienced in troubleshooting and repairing refrigeration systems.
  • Repair and replace parts, piping, valves, and other fittings.
  • Drywall application, painting, and other repair and maintenance duties.
  • Very experienced in appliance installation, general mechanics, woodwork, motor alignment and balancing, and troubleshooting.
  • Very knowledgeable with plumbing and systems, electrical, controls, and kitchen equipment
  • Knowledgeable on Lock out tag out procedure, OSHA, EPA, MSDS, and PPE.
  • Planning, prioritizing, organizing, and controlling are key attributes.
  • Attend training classes for job-specific skills.
  • Abide by all safety rules and regulations from corporate, State, and Federal.
  • Maintain a good attitude and people skills even during high-pressure situations, and be a good leader.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC/R, or other trades.

  • Universal Refrigerant license

  • Maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s License.

  • Able and willing to work outside in all weather conditions while completing a variety of different tasks 

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and troubleshooting skills 

  • Have a strong focus on a safe work environment for yourself and your team. 

  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset 

  • Suits a self-motivated person who enjoys a sense of accomplishment 

  • Possess your own hand tools and keep them in a safe, functional manner at all times.

 

The expected pay range is $23.00 - $27.94. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
