Job Summary:

The Director of Hospitality Engineering leads a group of Senior Managers and Managers in the operations of supporting the hospitality lodging division which includes a hotel, restaurant and golf operations, property management, vacation rentals, homeowner association operations, access control and employee housing. The Director is charged with overseeing the team on delivering high quality experiences to owners, guests and employees of our resort. In a resort environment, we operate as a full community providing full service that includes central guest check in and call center, emergency services, delivery and lock services and more. This includes focus on standards and procedures for daily operational management. Critical in-resort relationships include: Hotel, Rental and Association management, Employee Housing, Engineering, Pool & Spa, Administrative Office, Corporate Hospitality, Conference Sales & Services and various community stakeholder groups.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $104,000 -$140,000 + Annual Bonus + Equity

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management and administration of Departmental Managers and Sr. Managers focused on exceptional guest and employee experiences, including all Hospitality departments.
  • Work directly with other Keystone Resort Departments in the Valley and On Mountain to provide quick, efficient, and safe services needed for their operations.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a hospitality vehicle training program, compliance with Keystone and Vail Resorts vehicle policies, and ensuring paperwork & procedures are completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for overseeing Keystone Hospitality’s Carbon Monoxide policies, inspections, and record keeping compliance.
  • Drive our talent and DEI philosophy Hire; train and develop leadership team.
  • Develop and oversee the budgeting process and capital planning for all departments reporting up to the position.
  • Establish annual goals and responsibilities for direct reporting team, track progress towards goals and monitor achievement of goals.
  • Support further development of a collective team and systems that build and maintain relationships with homeowners, boards and associations.

Job Requirements:

  • 7 + years in building maintenance/engineering with experience leading multiple senior managers who each have multiple reports. Qualified candidates will be able to draw on knowledge leading multiple teams in a multi-property resort setting, preferably with individually deeded properties and an HOA component.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful strategies, plans, and programs based on competitive analysis, industry trends, and best practices, emerging technologies, and the company’s vision.
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical decision-making skills supporting a holistic, ecosystem perspective to developing people. Able to assess processes and outcomes by establishing solid metrics of performance.
  • Strong leadership presence with a proven ability to influence and interact with cross functional leadership and teams. Excellent verbal, written, storytelling, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills, including comprehension, effective listening, and negotiating skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Hospitality Administration, Finance or similar.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications - Excel, Word, Outlook, Access.

 

The expected pay range is $104,000 -$140,000 + Annual Bonus + Equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
