The Crested Butte Ski & Ride School (SRS) Supervisor is a member of the SRS Leadership Team who is responsible for the department’s quality assurance and management of the SRS with guidance from the SRS Manager, SRS General Manager and Skier Services Director. The position is responsible for the training, daily operations management, scheduling, payroll, SRS financial management, and moral and culture of instructors. The SRS Supervisor is responsible for promoting workplace safety plans, assignment of SRS products to instructors, and instructor on-hill observations to review product quality though feedback and systemic evaluations for instructor development. SRS Supervisors are responsible for regular interactions with guests to solicit feedback, resolve conflicts and problem solve to deliver Experiences of a Lifetime.



  • Guest Experience – Ensuring the highest level of quality in regards to private, group lessons, season long programs, and overall SRS experience. Responsible for implementing guest recoveries and tactics to increase Guest Experience (GX) scores. Performance measured by meeting or exceeding GX survey metrics.
  • Safety – Workers Compensation reporting, facilitate mandatory safety trainings/clinics, and incident tracking and communication. Oversight of SRS family members to ensure all safety compliance programs (on-snow safety quizzes, equipment checks, park pass program, kids on lifts) achieve 100% completion rate. Performance measured by achieving or exceeding workers compensation metrics.
  • Safety – Deliver daily relevant and meaningful safety messaging at daily SRS instructor briefings to impact SRS lead measure tracking of zero injury goal and safety performance. This includes incident reviews and SRS safety policy shifts/pivots as needed.
  • Financial Planning & Acumen – Instructor Scheduling to match business levels. Manage labor budgets for financial success. Performance measured monthly by meeting or exceeding financial metrics. 
  • Financial Planning & Acumen – continuous Interaction with sales channels (PSS & Group Sales) to manage lesson bookings, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maximizing revenue. Appropriate level of expertise utilizing RPOS sales and reporting tools, including monitoring and administration of inventory controls. Familiarity with Peoplesoft for payroll issue.   
  • Instructor Performance – On-snow observations to review product quality and instructor performance and safety, including monitoring of suggested and prescribed routes and ideal usage of teaching zones/areas/terrain.
  • Communication – Staff communication to include daily morning briefings, monthly SRS family meetings, instructor messaging for company/department updates utilizing Outlook e-mail messaging, instructor.snow.com messaging, phone, and in-person meetings. Track and post morning meeting notes. Responsible for meeting or exceeding expectations in Employee Engagement Survey metrics.
  • Drive Company Value – Understanding CBMR SRS business, Resort-wide business, and enterprise wide-business strategies
  • Development – Lead SRS family members in their professional development and performance management including ongoing communications mid and end of season reviews for staff, and coaching/disciplinary actions when deemed necessary. Schedule and facilitate one on ones with direct reports to review professional development.
  • Leadership – Role model and bring to life the Company’s Values of; Serve Others, Do Right, Drive Value, Do Good, Be Safe, Have Fun, and Diversity
  • Technology – Familiarity with Phones, 2-way radios, Microsoft Office Suite, Company voicemail, Microsoft TEAMS, RPOS tools, and online portals/SharePoint. Technology learning agility required.
  • Teamwork – Must be team player able to work in fast paced and changing environment and able to cross SRS disciplines as needed; Adult group lessons & privates, Snowboard group lessons and privates, and Kids group and private lessons.
  • Buildings & Facilities – Maintain guest ready environment of all public facing SRS spaces. Maintain employee SRS spaces, i.e. SRS staff room. Including and not limited to sanitization, disinfection, cleanliness, and maintain instructor supplies and SRS guests snack inventories.
  • All other duties as assigned 


Job Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements – High School Diploma. Proficient in reading, writing, and communication skills in English
  • Minimum of two (2) years teaching as a full-time snowsports instructor for a recognized ski/snowboard school
  • Instructor Trainer or Supervisor Assistant experience preferred
  • Required – Current professional instructor certification.
  • Minimum PSIA/AASI level 1 certification. Level 2 and 3 preferred
  • RPOS, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft TEAMS, Instructor Tools, 2-way radio, and online indexing portal experience preferred.


The budgeted range starts at $43,000 - $49,450 - $55,900.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
