Job Summary:
The Ski and Ride School Manager is responsible for creating a welcoming first impression by embodying resort values, modeling our company’s leadership competencies, and setting the tone for the team. This is achieved through a focus on quality control, guest relations, sales generation, staff performance and development, financial responsibility, communication, teamwork, administrative duties, and self-development. The Manager oversees the growth and budget of the Mountain Sports Team, Ski and Ride School and Summer Camp programs.

The Manager directly supports the supervisory staff of these three programs to ensure that the needs of employees, guests, the resort, and the business are consistently met. This role works closely with the Director of Skier Services, the SRS Senior Manager, and all other resort departments to ensure the efficient and effective management of Ski and Ride School operations.

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $56,485.00 - $77,427.41 +Annual bonus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, support, and engage supervisors, winter and summer pros, and support staff across assigned teams to ensure they understand their roles and contribute effectively to the business. Provide guidance and implement policies and procedures for Ski & Ride School, Mountain Sports Team and Summer Camp.
  • Ensuring safety is the #1 priority for all staff and guests by championing a culture of safety. Model safe behaviors, integrate safety practices into daily operations, and hold the team accountable for maintaining a safe environment.
  • Hire, coach, motivate, develop, and retain staff to build a high-performing team.
  • Drive Business results through quality control, effective labor management, prioritization of employees and guest safety.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, peers, and other departments to foster an environment of support and trust.
  • Oversee and coordinate day-to-day supplies, equipment, and program tools for both indoor and outdoor operations.
  • Ensure the successful execution of all on-mountain events in both winter and summer seasons.
  • Lead by example in understanding and modeling the company’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of future strategic initiatives for the department.
  • Resolve guest concerns by applying company values and utilizing available resources.
  • Align staffing levels with daily business demands to ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a Ski & Ride School Instructor or MST Coach
  • Minimum of two years’ supervisory experience
  • PSIA/AASI Level 1 certification or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in inclement weather in a high-alpine environment
  • Excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, weekdays, nights, and holidays
  • Must pass a background check

 

Preferred Skills:

  • PSIA/AASI Level 2 certification or equivalent
  • Children’s Specialist 1 certification or equivalent
  • Prior experience working with children, adults, and private lessons
  • Experience with RPOS
  • College degree or experience in a relevant field
  • Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment

 

The expected pay range is $56,485.00 - $77,427.41 +Annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
