Job Summary

The Health & Safety Manager Hospitality and Vail Resorts Retail (VRR) will set the strategy, lead and manage all aspects of Health & Safety across Hospitality and VRR for the Eastern Region. This position will work closely with Health & Safety leadership, Resort Health & Safety, Corporate and Field Operations for Hospitality, Retail & Rental, Distribution Centers and corporate leadership to create, build, implement and sustain a Health & Safety culture that achieves world-class safety performance. This position will collaborate cross functionally to ensure safety programs are properly vetted, dynamic, on-schedule and within budget. This position supports compliance with federal, state and local safety and health regulations in all aspects of Hospitality and Retail/Rental operations. This position will work and collaborate with external partners in supporting our Company’s core value of Be Safe.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Outlet: Eastern Region 
  • The expected range is $59,100 - $79,500 + annual bonus 
  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time / Year Round
  • Other Specifics: Hybrid, must be located in a state within the Eastern Region operations for Hospitality and VRR.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive, influence and support the Company’s Health & Safety strategy to achieve world-class H&S performance across Hospitality, Retail/Rental and Travel and Leisure industries.
  • Be an unbiased leader and voice for leadership and operations teams across Hospitality and VRR so they understand the risks and opportunities to drive, improve, and maintain safety performance.
  • Advise and support Eastern Region leadership and operations teams on Health & Safety priorities for Hospitality and Retail/Rental.
  • Have a deep understanding of the core business needs, and adjust safety strategy to the business.
    • Use historic, current and predictive safety metrics to inform adjustments/decisions.
  • Lead and drive operational ownership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive incident prevention strategy and tactics to reduce employee and guest exposures.
  • Support Health & Safety Director and Sr. Manager in the development, implementation and maintenance of all health and safety and operational risk management programs for Hospitality and Retail/Rental business units.
  • Collaborate with resort Health & Safety teams and key stakeholders to further the implementation and adoption of safety initiatives to improve guest and employee safety.
  • Prepare management summary reports of safety performance across the Eastern Region for Hospitality and Retail/Rental.
  • Proactively address compliance and regulatory safety as well as risk management trends and regulatory focus areas. 
  • Operate and influence a variety of stakeholders in a matrix environment.
  • Communicate effectively with project team members and key stakeholders.
  • Execute projects according to project plans; monitor timeline traction and critical risk indicators, making adjustments as needed to ensure successful implementation of the project while remaining on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.

 

Job Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. Degree in safety, environmental, public health, legal, risk management, HR or related experience
  • 4+ years of similar work experience
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Advanced computer skills, MS Office Suite, database management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects; strong organizational skills; ability to influence
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Experience successfully leading and implementing change.
  • Experience accomplishing objectives through others

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $59,100 - $79,500 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
