The Sr. Manager – Ski & Ride School Operations is responsible for the day-to-day planning, execution, and management of process and systems used to drive initiatives and priorities across the Ski & Ride School (SRS) function. Reporting to the Director of SRS Operations, this role serves as a key operational leader within the SRS Line of Business, driving task completion associated with the annual business cycle, overseeing cross-functional initiative management, and serving as the workflow connection between the SRS Line of Business and resort operations. This position plays a critical role in partnering with and supporting operations leaders to ensure timely execution of workflows and alignment to strategic objectives.

 

Job Responsibilities:

· Lead the day-to-day planning and execution of operational activities across the Ski & Ride School annual cycle and enterprise initiatives

· Partner with internal and external stakeholders to define scope, objectives, success criteria, dependencies, and timelines for critical programs and initiatives

· Identify execution risks and propose actionable solutions to maintain progress toward organizational goals

· Coordinate and facilitate SRS operations leadership meetings, including agenda development, documentation, and follow-up on core deliverables

· Serve as project manager for key elements of SRS initiatives as directed by SRS leadership

· Develop and implement tools to track and report on the status of strategic initiatives and core operational deliverables

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure execution is aligned and communication is streamlined

· Support the development of a centralized operations management function, including potential direct reports, to enhance efficiency and scale core activities

· Lead and develop administrative team needed to provide central capabilities necessary to achieve SRS Operational capabilities at scale

 

Job Requirements:

Knowledge and Skills:

· Strong program and initiative management capabilities

· Operational leadership experience in complex, multi-site environments

· Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills

· Proven ability to coordinate and execute against strategic priorities in partnership with cross-functional teams

· Process-minded, with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement

· Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Ability to facilitate meetings and training.

· Critical thinking and communication skills.

· Proven computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

 

Experience:

· Demonstrated success in leading day-to-day operations and managing cross-functional programs

· Experience working in hospitality, resorts, retail, or consumer service industries preferred

· Background in operations management, program execution, and initiative delivery

· Experience facilitating meetings and aligning large stakeholder groups around shared outcomes

 

Key Decision Rights:

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $93,000 - $126,000 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
