Job Summary:

The EpicPromise Employee Foundation (EPEF) provides $1M+, annually, in financial grants to Vail Resorts employees and their families. The EpicPromise Employee Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit funded by Vail Resorts, company employees, and the community. We have three grant programs: an Emergency Relief grant program and two scholarship grant programs: Educational Ascent and EpicPromise Scholars.

 

The Sr. Specialist of Programs and Fundraising is responsible for grant programming, employee engagement and donor management for the EpicPromise Employee Foundation. Working in partnership with the Program Manager, this role will have the primary responsibility to manage all grant programs including intake, review and awards. The role will also build and execute annual fundraising targets and plans. Success in this role will include positive employee experience for each program as well as increasing program awareness and loyalty among Vail Resorts employees and guests and increasing the Foundation’s overall fundraising efforts and donor connection.

The Sr. Specialist reports to the Program Manager of the EPEF. We are looking for a candidate who is a team-player, self-starter, demonstrates strong peer leadership, and cares deeply about helping others.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Grant Program Management and Grantee Support (35%)

  • Intake and evaluate grant applications, conduct background research, communicate with applicants
  • Serve as a key point of contact for grantees to work through grant process
  • Maintain grant applicants’ records including case notes, communication logs, and status updates.
  • Fulfill payment of grants and keep a record of financial transactions on the EPEF’s ledger.

 

Fundraising and Donor Management (35%)

  • Assist with the growth of employee payroll donations (targeting a 10% employee base)
  • Own the charity tax receipt and gift acknowledgment process
  • Enter bi-weekly payroll deduction information in tracking documents and report on payroll deductions through use of Smartsheet
  • Support existing internal and external Giving Campaigns from strategy and execution to reporting, resulting in more engagement and increased donations

 

Grass-roots fundraising: manage volunteer teams and events (20%)

  • Organize and manage growing list of volunteer teams who are based in mountain resort locations
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with these remote volunteer teams and ensure delivery of Foundation messages to employees across Vail Resorts network
  • Plan and advise volunteer teams on fundraising and outreach events and oversee budgets
  • Manage schedule of fundraisers to be hosted by resort volunteer teams, provide support to resort volunteers before/during/post event, collect donation details and payments, and keep financial records of transactions
  • Build websites for resort based auctions, manage websites during auction, and communicate with bidders as needed

 

Support the story-telling for the EpicPromise Employee Foundation fundraising program (10%)

  • Work closely with the Program & Fundraising Manager and team leadership to determine strategic communications and marketing strategy related to fundraising and fundraising campaigns
  • Create and oversee compelling cases for support through marketing tactics including email marketing, videos, social media, and other – often without the support of a creative agency

 

Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years working at nonprofit, with nonprofits, or in a corporate social responsibility setting accompanied by a proven track record of meeting fundraising goals and building strong donor relationships
  • Experience in community fundraising, major gifts, planned giving, digital fundraising, events, etc.

  • Demonstrated project management skills and excellent attention to detail are required; strong data analytics skills, a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communications skills, and strong customer service orientation

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $61,286 - $70,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
