Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join our exciting, demanding and growing Core Engineering Services (CES) IT Team. This role is designed for those with drive, are highly organized, thrive in ambiguity, and are comfortable communicating with Stakeholders and Executives alike. This position will be directly responsible for managing a track of work with ongoing iterative projects of varying complexity related to BI and Data Engineering projects directly impacting many facets of our consumer-facing websites and mobile applications.

 

Job Specifications:  

  • Starting Wage: $110,000 - $125,000 + Annual Bonus

Job Responsibulities:

  • Responsible for driving day-to-day project management activities in an agile environment including:  project initiation, planning, budgeting, resource planning, scope management, dependency management, risk management and ongoing communication.
  • Play a Scrum Master role on our agile projects and lead the team through daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, task estimation, demos and retrospectives and release management.
  • Partner with other IT groups including: Resort Application Development, Information Security, and Infrastructure to plan for and execute on CES releases.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure project objectives, success criteria, scope, requirements and requested by dates are defined and delivered upon.  Stakeholders include Digital Experience, A/B Testing, Analytics, Operations and multiple Marketing teams.
  • Own all CES project-related communications and escalations to internal IT team members and Stakeholders including weekly status reports; tracking of risks, issues, action items, and open questions; as well as key decision alignment and logging. 
  • Build and manage strong relationships with all internal teams and 3rd party vendors.
  • Support and track contract negotiations with 3rd party vendors.
  • Responsible for capital project and operation expense budget management – recording, tracking, reporting, and communicating.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience to include critical, cross-functional projects / programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple priorities and flex in ambiguous situations
  • Extremely Proficient in Microsoft suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Extremely Proficient in Project Management tools such as Smartsheets
  • Experience managing vendors
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum and Waterfall methodologies and tools such as Jira & Confluence

Preferred:

  • Certified Project Management Professional
  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Digitally fluent and confident in speaking to and educating about the rapidly changing digital landscape, including platforms, technology and innovation

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $110,000 - $125,000 + Annual Bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
