Job Summary:

The Vice President, Enterprise FP&A is a senior finance leader responsible for advancing enterprise growth and transformation at Vail Resorts. The role supports strategic decision-making across business planning, resource efficiency, mergers and acquisitions through rigorous financial analysis, disciplined investment evaluation, and clear decision support. Operating at the intersection of strategy and execution, this leader partners with executive leadership to translate long-term priorities into actionable financial insights and value creation.

 

The role also helps shape and communicate the company’s growth and value creation narrative for executive leadership and the Board.

 

With people leadership responsibility, this role sets direction, builds capability, and leads a team delivering strategic finance support across the enterprise. Reporting to the VP of Corporate and Mountain Finance, the role is a member of the Finance Senior Leadership Team and helps evolve FP&A capabilities, streamline processes, and strengthen enterprise business acumen. The VP, Enterprise FP&A brings an enterprise mindset, strong executive presence, and a builder’s approach—scaling decision quality, financial rigor, and leadership capacity as the company grows.

 

This role ensures Vail Resorts’ growth ambitions are anchored in disciplined financial insight and scalable execution. By bringing enterprise perspective and financial rigor to strategic initiatives—including M&A—the VP, Enterprise FP&A helps the company move faster, make better decisions, and build a durable platform for long-term value creation.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $230,000 - $270,000 + annual bonus + equity

Job Responsibilities:

Enterprise Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to the CFO, Executive Committee, and senior leaders on strategic growth, transformation, and investment decisions.
  • Partner cross-functionally to evaluate, prioritize, and sequence enterprise initiatives.
  • Provide clear financial framing that balances near-term performance with long-term value.

 

Strategic Growth & Transformation

  • Lead financial evaluation and performance oversight of enterprise growth, transformation, and efficiency initiatives.
  • Lead financial assessment of mergers and acquisitions, including valuation, diligence, and strategic fit.
  • Establish economic logic, success metrics, and governance to enable disciplined execution.
  • Support long-range planning and growth scenarios, translating strategy into financial implications and tradeoffs.

 

Investment, Value Creation & Risk Management

  • Partner on business cases, investment prioritization, and capital allocation decisions related to strategic initiatives.
  • Provide financial leadership on acquisitions and expansions, including scenario modeling and risk assessment.
  • Identify risks and execution dependencies, proactively surfacing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure consistency and credibility in sizing, tracking, and communicating strategic initiatives.

 

People & Capability Leadership

  • Set vision, operating cadence, and performance expectations for the enterprise FP&A team.
  • Lead, develop, and coach talent; foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Own talent strategy, including hiring, development, and succession planning.
  • Design and scale operating models, processes, and tools to enable repeatable, high-quality decision support.

 

Communication & Governance

  • Develop executive- and Board-level materials for strategic growth initiatives.
  • Partner with Investor Relations to translate growth investments into clear, external-ready messaging.
  • Ensure transparent communication of progress, outcomes, and risks while upholding strong financial governance.

 

Leadership Expectations

  • Operate with an enterprise mindset and optimize for total company outcomes.
  • Lead through influence, clarity, and trust in complex, changing environments.
  • Balance strategic thinking with pragmatic execution.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Senior finance leadership experience with enterprise exposure and direct people leadership.
  • Strong background in strategic finance, transformation, investment evaluation, and M&A.
  • Proven ability to influence executive leaders and scale high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and executive presence skills.

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $230,000 - $270,000 + annual bonus + equity. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
