Job Summary:

The Experience of a Lifetime starts with the first moment a candidate or hiring manager engages with our Talent Acquisition to ensure their experience is aligned with business and talent strategies, differentiated against market-driven best practices, and executed with consistency and care for the candidate and hiring manager experience. 

 

The Director of Talent Acquisition is responsible for the design and execution of overall talent sourcing, recruiting, and hiring strategies for all year-round and seasonal frontline positions. The Director will take a data-driven approach to ensure executional excellence in recruiting across managerial, professional, and operational roles and identify selective opportunities for proactive sourcing in alignment with business needs and functional talent strategies. This role is a key member of the Talent senior leadership team and leads the Talent Acquisition COE team to ultimately attract and select inclusive, engaged, high performers with the capabilities to meet the business needs of the future.


Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $125,000 - $150,000 + annual bonus + equity

Job Responsibilities:

  • Delivers critical talent acquisition metrics including time-to-fill, quality of hire, and representation of candidate slates to deliver on year-round and frontline leader hiring needs for the enterprise.
  • Partners with Strategic HR Business Leaders to build hiring strategies aligned to functional and enterprise talent strategies. Drives alignment with senior and executive committee leaders to ensure sourcing and acquisition strategies are in service of achieving business outcomes. 
  • Leverages and owns year-round recruiting data analysis and insights to proactively identify areas of risk/opportunity while monitoring time-to-fill, quality of hire, and talent acquisition metrics that integrate business with talent priorities. Analysis also informs recruiter vs vacancy allocation based on hiring volume and cycles.  
  • Achieves hiring targets for seasonal frontline leader positions in service of ‘always-on’ seasonal staffing strategy. Partners closely with Talent Management in the context of EpicService frontline talent strategy to enable internal mobility for high-performing talent from entry/advanced to frontline leader positions.  
  • Lead strategic programs and enterprise change initiatives that continuously strengthen and adapt our Talent Acquisition ecosystem—including Global Mobility, Relocation, Workforce Analysis, and related talent programs—to ensure we're positioned to attract, mobilize, and retain top talent across Vail Resorts as business needs evolve.
  • Leads a high-performing Talent Acquisition team with partnership capability and specialized, function-specific recruiting expertise sets. Emphasizes team-based ways of working and sharing best practices cross functionally within the Talent Acquisition team and across HR.  
  • Partners effectively to ensure that we are selectively and proactively building talent pools from our broad talent pipelines to meet current and future business needs focused on provided differentiated guest experience.  
  • Operates with discretion in partnership with senior leadership key stakeholders for confidential job posting and hiring support.  
  • Builds consistency and standardization in hiring processes for all experienced and senior leader roles with clear measures of success, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or related field. Master's degree preferred but not required
  • 8+ years leading strategic HR programs and teams directly related experience, preferably in a medium-large company or consultancy
  • Self-driven and have the demonstrated capability and confidence to interface effectively with senior leaders, members of the HR team, and multiple stakeholders throughout the company driving critical talent sourcing and hiring initiatives. 
  • Experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
  • Success in establishing and maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to access team/individual solutions, needs assessments, and implementing appropriate solutions with appropriate colleagues.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Effective communication both written and verbal, to clearly articulate ideas.
  • Demonstrated track record of designing engaging and impactful programs that improve individual, team, and company performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change that drives business outcomes.

 

 

The expected pay range is $125,000 - $150,000 + annual bonus + equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
