Job Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Merchandise Planning & Pricing and working alongside the Planning & Pricing Processor, this position is responsible for entry of all current selling prices for merchandise across the Vail Resorts Retail chain of locations including everyday pricing, sales, and promotional events. This position is also responsible for facilitating the resolution of problem pricing and events with our merchant and operations teams in a timely manner. The Pricing & Planning Specialist will comfortably use Excel, MMS, Silvon, Showcase Query and existing documentation to create and maintain current pricing, price adjustments, sale pricing, promotional events and ad hoc pricing analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work individually to perform a high volume of cadenced price changes and support the programmatic setup of all promotional offers.
  • Lead the monthly pricing cycle, including preparing pricing files, coordinating submission collection from stakeholders, and implementing approved price changes within pricing management systems.
  • Work alongside the Planning & Pricing Processor to troubleshoot price discrepancies with IT, Operations, and Merchant teams to identify root cause and solutions.
  • Utilize Excel (Macros and Power Query), Showcase Query, and Silvon to run reports that aid buying team in markdown strategy and inventory exit decisions.
  • Monitor and maintain various forms of communications with the operations team in order to ensure accurate pricing and timely execution.
  • Produce communications to operations teams on all price adjustments and direction on any sign or hard mark pricing needed in stores.
  • Review and test promotion and price events for accuracy.
  • Establish relationships and work with Merchants, Marketing, Data, and Operations Team.
  • Partner with the Operations Support team and lead trainings with Store Managers on monthly pricing cadence.
  • Additional Price Management projects as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Retail experience in operations or buying
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
  • Advanced skills in Excel required - including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data manipulation.
  • Light MOVED UP: Programming knowledge including VB Macros and MS Access
  • Proficient in SQL and DB2 database tools – preferred
  • Understanding of retail financial measures
  • Attention to detail with sound analytical skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $25.16/hr - $28.30/hr. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
