Job Summary:

Vail Resorts is looking to hire a Senior Analyst, Gear Analytics. The Gear Analytics team sits within Vail Resorts’ Analytics and Insights capability and is responsible for helping to create the strategic direction for Vail Resorts Rental and My Epic Gear businesses. The team leverages Vail Resorts’ proprietary data to generate insights about guest behavior that drives value for the business. This role is responsible for strategic and financial analyses to support revenue growth strategies, forecasting, and performance insights.

 

This individual should demonstrate ambition, business acumen, and emotional intelligence. In this role, you will be required to analyze large data sets and provide insights with actionable and concise recommendations. You will also be expected to demonstrate learning agility and drive to take on new topics or projects. 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $79,531.16 - $103,535.40 +annual bonus
  • Employment Type: Year Round

Job Responsibilities:

  • Dashboards & Data Sources: Collaborate with data enablement teams to create dashboards and data sources that drive analytics teams, as well as executive stakeholders
  • Performance Analysis & Reporting: Design and develop reporting for executive and other stakeholders; leverage reporting to generate business performance insights
  • Strategic Analysis: Analyze historical data and evolving trends to support strategic planning and forecasting. For example, this may include identifying and sizing opportunities to grow and retain guests
  • Partnership: Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders including Operations, Finance, and Marketing to achieve shared outcomes
  • Presentation: Communicate conclusions and recommendations in a clear, concise fashion to stakeholders
  • Prioritization:Communicate frequently and effectively with your manager to prioritize projects across a wide range of initiatives and stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Very strong quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated success in analytical or financial roles
  • Minimum 2-4 years previous experience in analytics, consulting, finance, or similar fields
  • Demonstrated success wrangling, querying, curating, and deriving insights from large datasets
  • Experience with analytic tools/software such as SQL, Snowflake, Databricks or other similar programs
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard development (Tableau or similar)
  • Advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, adjusting message to audience
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate across multiple functions within an organization

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $79,531.16 - $103,535.40 +annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
