Job Summary:

The Health & Safety Manager of Technical Safety Programs will be responsible for leading and managing critical safety programs, serving as a subject matter expert for high-risk areas, and supporting organizational compliance and safety excellence. This role combines program ownership, technical expertise, on-site training, and project management to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Drive, influence, and support the Company’s Health and Safety strategy to achieve world class Health and Safety performance within the hospitality industry.
  • Lead and serve as the subject matter expert for high-risk safety programs, including Hazardous Energy Control, Electrical, Fall Protection, and Confined Space.
  • Develop and execute internal training processes for high-risk safety programs, ensuring employees receive comprehensive instruction, competency validation, and ongoing refresher courses to maintain compliance and reduce risk.
  • High risk program management responsibilities would include developing programs, implementing across the enterprise, and ensuring compliance by conducting assessments.
  • Partner with the H&S Insights and Strategic Services team and Occupational Safety and Compliance team to create program resources for field utilization.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes. Recommend updates to policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Support technical safety projects that strengthen enterprise EHS programs.
  • Travel 75% of time to satisfy on-site training and assessment needs related to high risk programs.
  • Additional duties as assigned to support the department and company.

  

Job Requirements:

  • BS in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, or similar required
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in Health and Safety or related field
  • CSP, CIH, CHST or other H&S certifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word) and Safety Management Systems

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with the OSHA and state specific programs
  • Expertise in fall protection, electrical, and confined space regulations
  • Experience leading and implementing change and projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EHS program hierarchies

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 + Bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment for Broomfield-based roles where employees must live within 50 miles of the Broomfield office and work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.
