Vail Resorts offers employees and their dependents two comprehensive medical plans utilizing the UnitedHealthcare Options PPO Network of providers. Both are consumer-driven plans with a company-funded Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) to help pay towards the first claims you incur in a year. Preventive care is covered at 100%, and Vail Resorts covers 80% or 70% of costs in-network after the deductible. Coverage also includes access to valuable resources such as Grand RoundsMDLive, and Hinge Health


Vail Resorts partners with Guardian Dental to provide our dental insurance. Our dental plan covers an extensive range of benefits from checkups to treatment and even orthodontia.


Our vision insurance is provided by Vision Service Plan (VSP) and provides coverage for exams, lenses, frames, and/or contact lenses. Utilizing VSP's in-network providers will provide cost savings to you.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

  • A Healthcare FSA allows you to set money aside on a pre-tax basis to assist with paying for healthcare expenses not covered by insurance.
  • A Dependent Care FSA provides a way to pay for eligible child-care or adult-dependent care expenses using pre-tax money.



Our Basic Life/AD&D Insurance is 100% paid for by Vail Resorts and provides $25k of coverage for hourly employees, 1.5 x salary for salaried employees and a flat amount for executives. Employees can also purchase supplemental life coverage for themselves and their dependents at discounted rates.


Our Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage's provide employees with income replacement when they are unable to work due to illness, injury or other medical conditions. STD & LTD provide up to 60% of income replacement while you are unable to work (CA employees have State Disability coverage).


The EAP provides confidential and professional counseling, legal references, financial planning, child and elder care references and much more to help you and your family resolve any problems that may affect your personal lives or job performance. You and your household's first 6 counseling sessions per Plan Year are provided at no cost.


Vail Resorts' 401(k) Retirement Plan administered by Empower Retirement makes saving for your future as easy as possible. Vail Resorts matches 50% of the first 6% eligible employees contribute.

Time Off

Vail Resorts believes that periods of rest and relaxation are essential to your health and well being.

  • Hourly employees are eligible for paid time off (PTO) that is accrued based on the number of regular hours worked each pay period. In addition to PTO, Vail Resorts offers extra time off (ETO); 24 hours of additional time off granted beginning at the end of the first year worked.  Hourly employees are also eligible for paid sick time to assist during periods of time when you are unable to perform your duties as a result of illness or injury.
  • Salaried employees Grade 25+ are eligible for flexible time off (FTO) that is paid time away from work for rest and relaxation, including vacation, holidays, medical and personal appointments and short term illnesses. There are no minimum or maximum limits on FTO, unless taking time off for a reason that qualifies for a Leave of Absence. 
  • Paid Parental Leave (PPL) provides eligible year-round employees with up to 160 hours (four weeks) of paid time off for eligible mothers and fathers who welcome a new child into their family.  PPL is in addition to time off that may be paid through short-term disability, Sick Time, Paid Time Off, Extra Time Off, and/or Flexible Time Off. 

Ski Pass

As a benefit provided by Vail Resorts, Employees and eligible dependents receive a free season pass providing access to skiing and snowboarding at many of the resorts in our family. 

Voluntary Benefits

  • The Auto, Home & Pet insurance programs allow you to purchase quality insurance at special group rates and with the convenience of payroll deductions. The Legal program gives you access to legal advice and assistance in a wide range of areas such as real estate matters, will preparation, debt problems, family law and more.
  • ​​The Critical Illness and Accident Plans are available for you and your family offering additional protection from unforeseen medical events. The coverage's provide payments for various illness and injuries to be used for any purpose.


Vail Resorts also offers: Adoption assistance,  child care at specific locations, ski and snowboard privileges, lodging and retail discounts and much more.
