Job Summary:

Service is the foundation of everything we stand for at Vail Resorts, and our rental employees are no exception to this experience of a lifetime. Responsible for providing high-end customer service and store support, our Retail and Rental Management staff are knowledgeable representatives of our brand and culture inside our stores ready to assist with any of our customers’ questions and provide premium products. Lead our teams in this tune shop role at the base of the mountain.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $58,298.00 - $83,283.00 + annual bonus
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027 
  • Shift Type: Full Time
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age 
  • Housing Availability: No  

  

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Tuning both guest and rental equipment
  • Provide training resources for employees in gear tuning, POS, product knowledge, guest service, and sales
  • Administer company policies and guidelines
  • Manage communicating company values and goals to the employees
  • Manage monitoring and controlling a daily payroll budget
  • Maintain merchandising and cleanliness standards
  • Manage inventory control and meet or exceed inventory goals
  • Enforce company cash handling and other Loss Prevention policies and procedures
  • Recruit and assist in maintaining a quality core staff
  • Remain current on new industry products and trends; demonstrate knowledge of products
  • Protect company assets through loss prevention techniques
  • Maintain all company paperwork according to policies and standards
  • Weekend/Night availability is required. Weekday availability is required during some holiday periods.

Job Requirements: 

Required:

  • Tuning knowledge - required
  • High school diploma or equivalent - required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications - required
  • Ability to communicate frequently with co-workers and guests in accurate spoken and written English - required
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass motor vehicle record check 

Preferred:

  • A minimum of 3 years of ski/snowboard tuning experience - preferred
  • A minimum of 1 year of ski / snowboard rental management experience – preferred
  • Familiarity with rental and retail POS system - preferred

 

The expected pay range is $58,298.00 - $83,283.00 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
