Job Summary: 
A Ski Patrol Supervisor is responsible for scheduling, facilitating training and performance feedback for the members of their crew and other members of the ski patrol.They oversee the daily ski patrol functions pertaining to the area to which they are assigned. Coordinate with Assistant Patrol Director to facilitate daily projects.They can make major operational decisions as needed in the absences of the Ski Patrol Director. Create a strong safety culture within Patrol.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Extensive knowledge of ski patrol including : medical, trails, scheduling, weather, training, avalanche, snowmobile, accident investigation, lift evacuation, and slope safety.
  • Extensive knowledge of Breckenridge Ski Resort Operations, including: snowmaking, risk management, terrain park, lift maintenance, race crew, lift operations, mountain safety, F&B ski school, events, transportation, guest services and mountain services 
  • Demonstrates effective supervisory skills in regard to motivation (morale and positive reinforcement), disciplinary and corrective action, and documented mid and end of season reviews.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and strong guest service skills
  • Working knowledge of the Colorado Skier Safety Act
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Effective working relationships inter/intra departmentally
  • Expert level skier
  • Oversee, facilitate, schedule, and manage all medical training for patrol.
  • Assist with New Employee training.
  • Oversee all medical equipment and supplies.
  • Other tasks as assigned. 

  

Job Requirements: 

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • OEC
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • English speaking, writing and comprehension
  • 21 years of age 

 

Preferred, but not required 

  • EMT, Explosive permit,
  • Patrol Supervisor or Special Skill Ski Patroller  

Physical Minimum Requirements: 

  • Be able to lift more than 50 lbs
  • Lifting, standing, walking, sitting, frequency
  • Use hands to finger, hands to feel, reaching with hands/arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear
  • Vision - close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus 

Other Requirements: 

  • Skiing and related activities, working in outdoor winter mountain weather
  • Use of explosives, exposure to noise
  • Equipment used: skis, some power tools, snowmobile
  • Advanced level snowmobile operator
  • Basic computer skills 

 

The expected pay range is $27.00/hr - $36.44/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
