Job Summary: 

Service is the foundation of everything we stand for at Vail Resorts, and our Terrain Park team is no exception to creating an experience of a lifetime. As an Experienced Terrain Park Cat Operator, you will play a critical role in the construction, maintenance, and progression of Breckenridge Ski Resort’s world-class terrain parks. This position is responsible for operating specialized snow grooming equipment to shape and maintain terrain park features, ensuring a safe, consistent, and innovative experience for guests. The ideal candidate is a skilled snowcat operator with prior terrain park building experience, strong attention to detail, and a passion for terrain park operations. 

 

Job Specifications: 

  • Starting Wage: $22.96/hr - $30.61/hr 
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027  
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available 
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age  
  • Housing Availability: No 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build, shape, and maintain terrain park features including jumps, rails, boxes, landings, transitions, and halfpipe features as directed
  • Operate snowcats equipped with terrain park implements to maintain park quality, consistency, and safety standards
  • Work closely with Terrain Park Leadership to execute daily build and maintenance plans
  • Inspect park features and identify maintenance needs to ensure a safe guest experience
  • Maintain a general knowledge of terrain park design, risk management practices, and resort safety standards
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Communicate clearly and effectively via 2-way radio with park staff, grooming teams, and leadership
  • Assist with special projects, event venue preparation, grooming team and other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of terrain park building and snowcat operating experience required
  • Previous experience constructing and maintaining terrain park features required
  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to sit for extended periods while operating heavy equipment and frequently climb on and off equipment
  • Knowledge of 2-way radio communication and terrain park safety practices preferred
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality terrain park features

 

The expected pay range is $22.96/hr - $30.61/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
