Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager at a Ski and Snowboard Tuning Shop supports the Shop Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring that all tuning, repairs, and maintenance are performed to the highest technical and safety standards. This role involves supervising tuning technicians, maintaining workflow efficiency, organizing shop inventory, and assisting with equipment quality control. The Assistant Manager also plays a key role in training new staff, managing schedules, and helping to implement shop procedures. A strong understanding of ski and snowboard tuning techniques, attention to detail, and solid leadership skills are essential in this behind-the-scenes, operations-focused position.

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $25.00/hr - $27.53/hr
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2025/2026
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for training, scheduling, evaluating, communicating and coaching of staff members and assigning work to meet business needs and overall morale goals for the team
  • Serve as a resource and knowledge base for new and existing employees
  • Perform nightly transit movements
  • Perform both tuning and repair services for guests and fleet gear.
  • Work together with teammates to maintain safety standards.
  • Manage tuning and transit teams
  • Act as a mentor who can train and lead a team with effective communication

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience.
  • Display mechanical aptitude to be able to perform ski and snowboard tunes, maintenance or repairs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; including nights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Commitment to exceptional Customer Service.
  • Ability to stand and move in an active, team-oriented environment for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate fluently through spoken and written English.

 

The expected pay range is $25.00/hr - $27.53/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
