Job Summary:

The Lift Experience Team's mission is to provide employees and guests with a seamless, end-to-end experience from maze entrance to lift unloading. Service is the foundation of everything we stand for at Vail Resorts, and the Training Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring our teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to deliver a safe and exceptional guest experience.

 

As a Lift Experience Training Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining consistency in training programs across all lift operations, designing and facilitating training for employees at all levels, tracking completion of required training documentation, and supporting ongoing development opportunities. This role partners closely with leadership teams across both mountain peaks to continuously improve operational procedures, safety awareness, and employee performance.

 

Job Specifications: 

  • Starting Wage: $22.00/hr - $29.22/hr 
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027 
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and facilitate training programs for Lift Experience employees across all operational levels.
  • Create, revise, and distribute training materials, operating procedures, checklists, and other educational resources to ensure consistency across the department.
  • Track, monitor, and maintain training records, documentation, and compliance through approved systems and reporting tools.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding classes, ensuring employees receive required operational and safety training.
  • Conduct field-based coaching and hands-on training for lift operators, scanners, team leads, and supervisors.
  • Collaborate with managers, and leadership to identify training opportunities and improve existing programs.
  • Perform documented audits of operational areas to evaluate training effectiveness and compliance with department standards.
  • Communicate training progress, completion rates, and documentation needs with leadership teams across both mountain peaks.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all applicable company policies, operating procedures, and safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning throughout Lift Experience operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of previous Lift Operations, Mountain Operations, training, or leadership experience required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable facilitating group trainings, and speaking in front of large audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyze training records, maintain documentation, and generate reports.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams across multiple operational areas.
  • Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Must be physically capable of working in mountain environments and performing field-based coaching; may lift up to 40 lbs.

 

Preferred:

  • Previous experience developing or facilitating employee training programs.
  • Experience with DocuSign, electronic training records, or learning management systems.
  • Previous supervisory, team lead, or mentoring experience.

 

The expected pay range is $22.00/hr - $29.22/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
