Job Summary:

This helper position ensures the safe and reliable mechanical operation of lifts, with emphasis on proficiency, instruction, safety, and leadership in all areas of Lift Maintenance. The role is perfect for someone who wants to learn and grow with the department and build a career in the ski industry. 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $21.53/hr - $27.42/hr

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Lift Mechanics with preventative maintenance and special projects.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Self-motivator able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as play a support role on the Lift Maintenance team.
  • To assist the maintenance crew perform shutdown and operational maintenance on all of the ski lifts and conveyors
  • Safely operating lifts for line work crews, maintaining neat and accurate records of work performed during this process you will be expected to clean, vacuum, touch up paint and organize the terminal that you are working at.
  • Assist w/rope shortenings, sheave assembly rebuilds and other major projects as required
  • Teardown, clean, lube and re-assemble grips and carrier components as part of the NDT program
  • At the end of each day you will required to assist with unloading and putting away all tools and rigging for all the crews arriving at the shop.
  • Whenever time permits all vehicles including ATV and UTV’s shall be emptied, swept out, vacuumed and washed. Windows and upholstery shall be cleaned when necessary.
  • At the end of each day all work areas shall be organized, garbage and flammables removed, floors swept and benches and surfaces wiped down.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Mechanical/electrical aptitude or lift operations experience.
  • Ability to work efficiently at heights.
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Able to work outdoors in adverse mountain winter weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evening shifts, overtime, etc.
  • Able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level or above preferred.
  • BC Driver’s license 
  • Sturdy footwear, light 3/4 hikers at a minimum 
  • Physically fit with no previous known medical conditions or physical disabilities
  • Swipe in at the beginning and out at the end of each shift
