Job Summary:

PBX Operators are responsible for providing the Guest’s first experience while answering phones and assisting Guests with pre-arrival needs. After their arrival, operators continue to provide great service as they assist our Guests in-house with questions and ensure their needs are met and exceeded. Operators also assist front desk, concierge, and non-guests with any questions or requests. Prioritizing, assigning and coordinating housekeeping functions and requests for predominantly PM shifts including monitoring radio calls and organizing staff in an efficient manner:

 

Job Specifications: 

  • Shift & Schedule Availibility: Full & Part Time:

  • Expected Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00

 

Job Responsiblities:

  • Responsible for constant communication with Guests/front desk/concierge via a phone station
  • Communication with all departments including housekeeping and engineering.
  • Must be knowledgeable about Resort offerings, and surrounding area knowledge is a plus. Continually provide prompt and courteous service when answering guest calls and making transfers to the appropriate departments for further servicing while following departmental procedures.
  • Must maintain a pleasant, engaging and positive demeanor while answering phone inquiries (“a smile in your voice”)
  • Operational knowledge of all front office sections and hotel aspects.
  • Basic Knowledge of Vail
  • Technologies for multiple tasks on the computer
  • Answer phones, dispatch guest calls, and assist with any questions or special requests.
  • Previous computer experience- requires use of internet and other application systems
  • High guest service expectations, initiative and ability to hold a conversation with a Guest
  • Must remain calm in highly stressful situations and be knowledgeable of emergency procedures
  • Requires high attention to detail and exceptional listening skills
  • Anticipate guest needs. Offers to contact valet for car retrieval or to arrange other transportation, when appropriate.
  • Promptly and accurately log all information and perform other office duties as determined by the supervisor and/or manager. These duties include typing and filing.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

 

May also be cross utilized with the following roles, but not limited to:

 

  • Front Desk and Arrival Staff Agent – Check in/out process, greeting/welcoming arriving guests, assist guest with questions regarding their room, folio activity or hotel reservation
  • Concierge Agent- assist Guests with questions, directions, event schedules, dining reservations, hotel registration, and other services regarding hotels

 

Job Requirements:

  • Proficient in English, Spanish preferred
  • Must have schedule flexibility
  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Previous computer experience
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful working environment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to confidently utilize service recovery methods
  • Enthusiastic about interacting and helping guests
  • Receptive to special requests
  • Willing to follow instructions and take direction
  • Availability Requirements:
  • Training Availability: 2-3 weeks of full availability (day AND evening) will be required immediately following the start date to complete the training
  • Additional Planned time off (vacations or non-paid time off) may not be available until the New Year.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous work experience in a Hotel/Front Desk environment
  • Previous experience in a high-volume, fast-paced office type environment
  • Previous Leadership experience

 

The expected pay range is $20.00 - $22.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
