Job Summary:
The General Manager – Lodge at Vail is a Director-level role responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and financial results of the Lodge at Vail. This role has full accountability for the guest experience, employee engagement, financial outcomes, safety, and brand standards for the property.
The General Manager leads a multidisciplinary leadership team across lodging, food and beverage, spa, maintenance, and association management, and serves as the primary liaison with homeowners and HOA Boards. This role requires a strong on‑property leader with proven general management capability, sound financial acumen, and the ability to lead through seasonal complexity in a resort environment.
Job Specifications:
- Starting Wage: $140,000 to $160,000 + annual bonus + equity

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide full general management leadership for the Lodge at Vail with visible, on‑property presence.
- Oversee all lodging, property management, spa, and food and beverage operations at the property.
- Own overall property results including financial performance, guest service, brand standards and quality control, safety, workers compensation, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and manage annual operating budgets, labor planning, and ongoing financial performance.
- Maintain oversight of major capital projects and renovations at the property.
- Develop and maintain executive‑level relationships with homeowners and HOA presidents and Boards of Directors.
- Ensure all association agreements, responsibilities, and obligations are met and adhered to.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing leadership team focused on operational excellence and talent development.
- Implement programs and initiatives to ensure the highest quality of service to homeowners, guests, and employees.
- Partner cross‑functionally with internal teams including Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Owner Accounting, Procurement, and Shared Services.
- Identify and implement innovative ideas and initiatives that build value for the property and the company.
- Represent the property within the local community as appropriate.
- Uphold high ethical and professional standards and model expected leadership behaviors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, lodging, resort operations, or a related field.
- 2+ years of General Manager experience, preferably in an upscale or luxury hospitality environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple departments and complex operations.
- Proven financial acumen, including P&L ownership, labor management, and budget accountability.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
Prefered Requirements:
- Experience in a resort or seasonal operating environment.
- Experience working with HOAs, homeowners, or association‑managed properties.
- Experience leading teams through capital projects or major renovations.
- Experience operating within a matrixed organizational structure.
The expected pay range is $140,000 to $160,000 + annual bonus + equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
