Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage is responsible for ensuring that all Resort guests have the highest quality food and beverage experience possible while maintaining a profitable department that is environmentally responsible. Manages the flow and proper execution of all al a carte and beverage operations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that the guest experience is pleasant in regard to atmosphere, service and quality of food and beverage products by adhering to the Resort brand/ performance standards.
  • Assists in the selection, training, supervision and success of F&B employees.
  • Delegates authority appropriately to staff members and follows up on all duties and issues to ensure timely completion.
  • Is actively involved in the operation through daily interaction with both the staff and Resort guests.    
  • Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  • Coordinates daily pre-shift huddles to educate the staff on resort information and conduct daily training standard. 
  • Ensures that all employees are in proper uniform and execute their job according to the Vail/Rock Resorts brand performance standards.
  • Responsible for various administrative tasks including: scheduling to the forecasted business levels, posting weekly schedules in a timely manner, monitoring weekly payroll, ensuring par levels are maintained and that all equipment is on hand and in excellent condition.  
  • Enforces internal cost and labor controls.
  • Handles disciplinary issues that may arise in a prompt and professional manner according to resort guidelines. 

Job Requirements:

  • Fluent in Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience with staff scheduling according to anticipated demands
  • Experience managing service for high volume, upmarket and large group events.
  • Experience with procurement and purchasing, inventory procedures. 
  • Experienced with payroll and onboarding new staff, including I9 processing and orientation.
  • Social Media marketing and management assist. 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lead a culture of safety and ensure compliance with health, sanitation, liquor-license, labor, environmental, recycling, waste-diversion, and company policy requirements.
  • Maintain kitchens, dining rooms, bars, warehouses, restrooms, exterior areas, and event spaces to standards for safety, cleanliness, readiness, and presentation.
  • Plan staffing, hours, outlet readiness, purchasing, and planning around the mountain operating calendar, including opening day, holiday peaks, powder days, spring close, and seasonal training surges.
  • Identify, develop, and prioritize the F&B capital roadmap including business cases for venue renovations and new concepts to enhance guest experience, operational efficiency, and financial performance.

Preferred Qualification

  • Minimum of five years of senior leadership experience in a complex, high-volume hospitality, resort, or food and beverage environment.
  • Restaurant and resort experience, preferably in a seasonal or mountain destination setting.
  • ServSafe and TIPS certifications, or ability to obtain required certifications prior to start.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, InfoGenesis, or similar workforce, financial, and point-of-sale systems.

 

The expected pay range is $57,784.00 - $64,064.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
