Job Summary:
The Raft Guide position is a safety-critical, guest-facing role responsible for delivering exceptional, educational, and memorable float trip experiences on the Snake River. This position requires seasoned commercial rafting expertise, sound judgment in dynamic river environments, and a strong commitment to guest safety, hospitality, and environmental stewardship. Raft Guides lead 10-mile trips, manage vessels and equipment, interpret the natural and cultural history of the region, and collaborate closely with fellow guides and support staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Job Responsibilities:
- Safely guide commercial rafting trips on the Snake River, demonstrating expert boat handling, river reading, navigation, and controlled landings.
- Maintain constant situational awareness of river conditions, weather, wildlife, and guest needs, adjusting trip execution as required.
- Enforce all safety protocols, conduct guest safety briefings, and respond calmly and effectively to on-river incidents or emergencies.
- Serve as a role model for safe work practices and a strong safety culture.
- Prepare, rig, inspect, and maintain rafts and associated equipment daily and throughout the season.
- Perform basic repairs, patching, and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment remains in safe working condition.
- Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and securing gear before and after trips.
- Deliver warm, professional, and engaging guest service at all times.
- Learn and present approved interpretive content related to Jackson Hole, local history, wildlife, and natural resources.
- Adapt communication style to a wide range of guests, ensuring inclusivity, clarity, and enjoyment for all participants.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of prior commercial rafting guide experience.
- Valid driver’s license with successful Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) clearance.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT) certification.
- Wilderness First Aid (WFA) certification.
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in variable weather and river conditions.
- Physical capability to lift, carry, and maneuver rafts and equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
