Job Summary: 

The Manager of Security (Chief of Security) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of all GTLC security operations, ensuring consistent enforcement of departmental standards, conduct, and accountability. This role maintains a professional command presence and a 24/7 on-call response posture to support critical or escalated incidents across all locations. The Chief of Security is technologically proficient and utilizes modern security systems and data platforms to direct daily operational and administrative functions. Under the supervision of the Health, Safety, and Security Manager, this position serves as an expert communicator responsible for supporting, developing, and directing Security Field Leads and Security Officers while delivering timely and accurate reports to GTLC leadership and the National Park Service, as appropriate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide command-level leadership and support focused on communication, coordination, and accountability for the Security Department’s routine administrative and field-based operations across all locations.
  • Maintain a 24/7 on-call response posture and direct response to critical, complex, or escalated incidents in the field.
  • Ensure operational readiness of the Security Department by managing time labor and schedule for 24/7 coverage.
  • Lead the implementation, administration and support for digitalized security technology systems including routine reporting platforms, routine inspection reports, surveillance, and operational data tools.
  • Maintain working knowledge and comprehensive awareness of routine Security department standards, policies, programs, procedures, and inventories - including advanced fire and life safety equipment and gear.
  • Coach, support, and develop Security Field Leads and Security Officers through performance management, and corrective action.
  • Coordinate security operations and incident response with the Health, Safety, and Security Manager and external partners including the National Park Service and law enforcement agencies.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant incident reporting, data analysis, and dissemination of summary reports routinely (daily, weekly, monthly) to leadership and stakeholders.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Absence of criminal record. Absence of felony record.
  • Must present self professionally in all types of interaction including crowds.
  • Proven experience in effective de-escalation and similar communication tactics.

Education:

  • Basic knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations and the Wyoming State Statutes as they apply to the Grand Teton Lodge Company, its employees, visitors and guests.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field, preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, law enforcement agencies, and the general public
  • Possess the ability to maintain confidential information – both written and verbal.
  • Proven experience in emergency response.
  • Experience coaching and leading diverse teams.

Supervisory Experience:

  • Previous supervisory experience in either public law enforcement or private security.

Licenses/Accreditations:

  • Possess a current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid.
  • Ability to obtain advanced emergency medical response certification upon hire.
  • Possess valid US state driver’s license, Successful completion of MVR.

Computer Skills:

  • Proven ability to learn new programs, and lead teams with digital tools.
  • Proven experience with digital security software and digital reporting tools.
  • Functional use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Language(s) Skill:

  • Read, write, speak and understand English fluently
  • Advanced written communication skills (grammar and spelling).
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills and experience.
