Job Summary:
The Team Lead (Field Lead) Security Officer provides frontline leadership and operational support within GTLC Security field operations, reinforcing departmental standards while promoting a safe and positive guest and employee experience. This role responds to and leads field operations during medical emergencies, de-escalations, wildlife interactions, disputes, concerns, violations, and other common calls in a remote National Park setting. The Field Lead guides and supports Intermediate Security Officers during routine patrols, inspections, and field assignments, ensuring work is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with departmental procedures across all assigned locations. This position communicates effectively and ensures proper intake, documentation, submission, and escalation of operational and empirical findings through the appropriate chain of command.

Job Responsibilities:
- Represent the Security Department, at all times, to create opportunities for positive community interactions (PCIs) and positive guest interactions (PGIs).
- Model professional conduct, decision-making, and communication standards in guest-facing and employee-facing interactions.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of other GTLC departments in order to assist them with issues that relate to security, loss prevention, risk management and safety concerns for both life and property.
- Support field operations during active incidents including medical emergencies, de-escalations, wildlife interactions, disputes, and violations.
- Provide direct supervision, guidance, and mentorship to Intermediate Security Officers during assigned shifts.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or evolving field situations prior to Chief of Security involvement.
- Ensure patrols, inspections, and field assignments are conducted accurately, timely, and in compliance with departmental procedures.
- Ensure proper documentation, intake, and submission of incident reports and empirical findings.
- Assist with operational readiness, situational awareness, and proactive risk identification in assigned areas.

Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Associates Degree Preferred.
- Possess the ability to maintain confidential information – both written and verbal.
- Proven experience in emergency response.
- Experience coaching and leading diverse teams.
- Minimum three years’ experience in managing staff at supervisory level.
- Possess a current certification in CPR/AED and First Aid.
- Ability to obtain advanced emergency medical response certification upon hire.
- Possess valid US state driver’s license, Successful completion of MVR.
- Proven ability to learn new programs, and lead teams with digital tools.
- Preferred experience with digital security software and digital reporting tools.
- Functional use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Basic written communication skills (grammar and spelling).
- Proven verbal and written communication skills and experience.
- Absence of criminal record. Absence of felony record.
- Must present self professionally in all types of interaction including crowds.
- Proven experience in effective de-escalation and similar communication tactics.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
- Previous experience in loss prevention (specifically in hospitality and/or college setting),medical response, law enforcement desired.
- Current certification in Advanced First Aid or equivalent.
- Experience with security, loss prevention, risk management, fire and life safety, fire protection systems, alarm systems, and investigations.
- Experience with emergency situation management.
- Ability to prioritize and multi task.
