Job Summary:

Maintains and repairs all kitchen equipment at Jackson Lake Lodge, Colter Bay Village, Jenny Lake Lodge. This includes, but is not limited to ovens, flattops, fryers, steamers and steam kettles, induction warmers, blenders, slicers, plate warmers, ect. You are expected to adhere to the company’s mission, vision and value statements. Be knowledgeable of the company’s management systems, policies and initiatives for Hospitality, Environmental, and Health and Safety. You have specific responsibilities within these areas and are expected to understand them.

 

Job Specifications: 

  • Starting Wage: $22/hr

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for start-up and winterizing of all kitchen equipment.
  • Responsible for all installation, repair, and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • May require working outside of regular hours to make repairs (normal hours 8am-4:30pm).
  • Abilities should include electrical, plumbing, steam, and pneumatic troubleshooting, and a grasp of related devices (solenoids, thermostats, valves, etc.
  • Ability to work on commercial dish machines and disposals recommended.
  • Every Maintenance Department staff member will be assigned other technical work within the department when maintenance crisis occur with the company or work in their particular technical field is temporarily or permanently reduced.   • All employees will actively participate in training, observe company policies and procedures, and promote all company values relative to protecting the natural environment.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen/ related equipment
  • Possess valid driver's license, Successful completion of MVR
  • Mobile work order system
  • English/ Good communication skills
  • Capable of handling moderately strenuous activity
  • Must have good organizational skills and possess initiative
  • Have good communication/people skills
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble various types of domestic and commercial type kitchen equipment
  • The ability to troubleshoot moderately complex issues with equipment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Hospitality:

  • You must be committed to superior guest service and quality standards. As a team member of your department you play a key role ensuring the team’s success and achievement of meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations. Our goal is to receive a minimum of 88% on our guest comment scores.
  1. Responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair to all kitchen equipment at Jackson Lake Lodge, Colter Bay Village, Jenny Lake Lodge, and Flagg Rach including:
    1. Vulcan/Blodgett commercial ovens
    2. Vulcan/Wolf flattops
    3. Frymaster fryers
    4. Alto sham steamers
    5. Crown/Cleveland steam kettles
    6. Robot coupe immersion blenders
    7. KitchenAid mixers
    8. Vulcan/Wolf char broilers
    9. Multiple Hobart pieces of equipment

 

Environmental:

  • The Grand Teton Lodge Company is entrusted with protecting the environment of Grand Teton National Park. As part of this mission you are responsible for carrying out our core environmental values: promote renewable energy, reduction of waste, protection of wildlife habitat, and environmental education. You should strive to preserve, protect and inspire your team members and our guests to join in this effort.
    1. Supports company environmental initiatives by maintaining equipment to maximize energy, water and fuel efficiency.
    2. Follows all company guidelines for the proper management, storage, and disposal of waste products and chemicals.

 

Health and Safety:

  1. Observe all requirements for the GTLC Hazard Communication Program.
  2. Attend training and observe all applicable OSHA and other regulatory compliance programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required by human resources and the EH&S office. Programs include, but not limited to: permit required confined spaces; respiratory protection; bloodborne pathogens; personal protective equipment (PPE); hearing conservation; lockout-tagout; spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plan; drivers safety; and, general proper operation of machinery and equipment.
  3. Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed by supervisor.

 

NPS/Community Relations:

  • You must be committed to working in partnership with the National Park Service and community organizations to enhance our guests’ experiences. Our goal is to receive only fours and fives on the five.
