Job Summary:
Responsible for greeting guests, take reservations in person or on the phone, walk guests to table, manage the flow of the restaurant to maximize seating capacity, reduce wait times and ensure guest satisfaction. You are expected to adhere to the company’s mission, vision and value statements. Be knowledgeable of the company’s management systems, policies and initiatives for Hospitality, Environmental, and Health and Safety. You have specific responsibilities within these areas and are expected to understand them.

Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure all company policies, procedures, service standards and assigned duties are performed correctly and efficiently.
- Maintain a positive and professional rapport with all staff and guests.
- Be familiar and comply with Brand Standards and NPS Standards.
- Become knowledgeable of all Food and Beverage items available.
- Become knowledgeable of general information on GTLC operations and National Park.
- Greet guests by offering them a warm, heartfelt welcome, maintaining eye-contact and smiling when interacting with guests.
- Attend pre-shift meetings; make notes of items being served as the specials and of any other information conveyed.
- Give every guest a fond farewell, thanking them for their business and inviting them to come back and see us again.
- Take reservations in person or on the phone, inputting them in Open Table as available.
- Add names and room numbers for walk in guests if applicable.
- Request additional information when taking reservations like special occasions, allergies and special requests.
- Work with Managers to assign sections, develop a floor plan and plan for big groups ahead of time.
- Check the voicemail frequently.
- Confirm reservations day off and manage reservations to maximize seating capacity respecting turn times and maximum settings.
- Ensure prompt seating with anticipation and compliance of all guests’ needs.
- Engage guest in conversation when walking them to the table.
- Assist in the set up and clean up of tables.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the restaurant maintaining a clean and organized work area specially in at the Host Stand
- Responsible for the state, accuracy and amount of menus, wine lists and kids menus. Requesting more to be printed as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining all host stand equipment in operational order and report all concerns to the Maintenance or IT Dept.
- Assist in the opening and closing procedures of the Restaurant
- Complete all assigned pre-shift side duties and post-shift side duties.

The expected pay range is $17.75/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
