Job Summary: 
The Assistant Front Desk Manager oversees and supports the Jackson Lake Lodge hotel operations, ensuring guest experiences and effective team collaboration. The Assistant Front Desk Manager will assist with training, recognition, and coaching of all employees. Will have administrative duties, including scheduling and responding to guest complaints. Providing excellent guest services, including addressing and resolving guest concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction, providing exceptional service, and creating memorable experiences. Working with tour and group closely with tour operators and group leaders to ensure seamless stays for all organized groups and tours visiting the property.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with overseeing hotel operations, training, coaching/discipline for front desk employees to build a highly engaged and productive team.
  • Act as the manager on duty during shifts and is the acting manager. Empowered to make decisions regarding guest & employee relations. Has overall responsibility for operations of the front desk and guest services
  • Training agents on the hotel operating system and phone system. Dispatch urgent guest requests to all appropriate departments and maintain a follow up call log to ensure the task was completed and then call the guest to ensure satisfaction.
  • Ensuring the Vail Resorts and Grand Teton Lodge Company Brand Standards are being followed in daily operations.
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies at the hotel by collaborating with security, the National Park Service, and hotel management to address incidents and ensure all protocols are followed correctly.
  • Assisting in managing day-to-day operations, including handling room oversells, resolving conflicts, and ensuring service standards are upheld.
  • Handles guest complaints and problems and ensures they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a passion for hospitality to support both team members and guests effectively.
  • Assist with checking in and out guests and helping with tour and group arrivals and departures. Ensure all billing statements are balanced and settled.
  • Works closely with housekeeping, accounting and activities, group conventions, and reservations to exceed guest expectations.
  • Assist the front desk manager in creating a schedule, managing time & labor and responding to Medallia Surveys for guest who stayed at Jackson Lake Lodge.
  • Always maintains a presence in the lobby at the front desk.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements: 

  • 1-3 years of previous hotel/resort experience
  • 1-2 years in a supervisor role
  • Guest Service experience
  • 1-2 Years Supervisory Experience Preferred 
  • Successful Motor Vehicle Record completion 
  • Good working knowledge of computers 
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Fluent in spoken and written English 
  • Front Desk experience
  • Ability to perform under pressure
