Job Summary : 

As the Stowe Rocks Supervisor, you’ll lead the daily operations of our indoor climbing gym, ensuring a safe, engaging, and efficient experience for guests and staff alike. From overseeing inspections and managing staff schedules, to facilitating guest experiences and coordinating private events, you’ll be the cornerstone of our climbing program. This role is ideal for someone with climbing experience, leadership skills, and a passion for creating memorable mountain adventures.


Job Specifications: 

  • Starting Wage: $25.00/hr - $27.53/hr
  • Employment Type: Year Round (10-month)
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age
  • Housing Availability: No


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead Operations: Oversee daily opening/closing procedures, inspections, and guest flow
  • Manage Staff: Schedule shifts, train new hires, and support team development
  • Coordinate Events: Plan and execute private climbing events and group buyouts
  • Maintain Standards: Ensure cleanliness, gear maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols
  • Communicate Effectively: Liaise with resort departments, update calendars, and manage signage
  • Stay Flexible: Adapt to seasonal changes, guest needs, and operational challenges
  • Drive Value: Monitor revenue and labor ratios, adjust operations to meet financial goals
  • Be Inclusive: Support climbers and staff of all backgrounds with patience and enthusiasm
  • Be Safe: Conduct and supervise safety checks, gear inspections, and rescue readiness
  • Serve Guests: Guide climbers through orientation, readiness tests, and climbing sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day
  • Comfortable working at height and performing rescues
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Experience with climbing, guest service, and team management
  • Familiarity with inspection protocols, ticket systems, and resort operations a plus

 

The Stowe Rocks Supervisor may support multiple departments and roles, including:

  • Climbing Gym Operations
  • Ticket Sales
  • Guest Services Coordination

 

The expected pay range is $25.00/hr - $27.53/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
