Job Summary:

Ensure quality guest services are provided to all our guests.  Responsible for the timely and fiscally responsible operation of the Rock Gym.  Position requires knowledge of indoor rock gym operations and related regulatory compliance.  Our supervisor will take the lead in the recruiting, hiring and training of personnel.   

 

During seasonal/unanticipated closure of the Rock Gym this position moves to assist the Mountain Operations team with operations as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing the annual operating budget for the Rock Gym, including revenue, labor and direct expenses.
  • Hire and train staff.
  • Scheduling of staff to meet or exceed budget to wage expectations.
  • Manage payroll with attention to staff daily electronic timesheets and biweekly system closures.
  • Develop and implement activities training and guest service training.
  • Support the activity by actively participating as a guide, while performing other job duties as required.
  • Fulfill job specific work requirements on a constant and consistent basis.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and standard protocols to ensure the highest level of safety.
  • Enforce all the safety policies to prioritize and ensure guest and staff safety on a constant basis.
  • Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and working conditions.
  • Provide a safe, fun, learning environment for guests and staff.
  • Actively mitigate any hazards that may come up or are seen.
  • Lead daily meetings to guide the team in carrying out goals and objectives.
  • Implement a high level of personal appearance that is encouraged at our resort.
  • Work with other departments (such as the gear zone, lift operations, summer activities) as needed.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience with proven strong supervisory and coaching skills Ability to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers.
  • Ability to use, or learn to use, the following equipment: telephone, 2-way radio, computer.
  • Proven experience/knowledge in budget preparation and tracking, material requisitioning, recruiting, selecting, training and evaluating required.
  • Ability to work with our adaptive climbing groups and programs. Ability to work at height.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to perform heavy work (defined as exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects).
  • Visual acuity necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, for accounting, for transcription, for computer terminal use, for extensive reading, for visual inspection involving small defects and small parts, using measurement devices, and assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eye.
  • Ability to work in an environment where there is sufficient noise to cause the employee to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • Ability to work in a potentially hazardous environment with exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and electrical current.

 

Preferred:

  • College degree in business management, recreation or similar field preferred
  • Previous Resort experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

 

The expected pay range is 25.00 - 26.45. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
