Job Summary:
Join our Food & Beverage leadership team as the Tye Creek Lodge Operations General Manager at Stevens Pass Mountain Resort, the premier ski destination in the Pacific Northwest Cascades. This winter seasonal leadership role oversees Food & Beverage operations and provides strategic support for department-wide operations.
The General Manager is responsible for the overall operational, financial, and people's performance of the business, driving exceptional guest experiences, building high-performing teams, and ensuring consistent execution of Food & Beverage standards. This leader champions a culture of hospitality, safety, accountability, adaptability and operational excellence while delivering strong business results and fostering an environment where employees are engaged, developed, and empowered to succeed.
As a key partner in the long-term success of Stevens Pass Food & Beverage, this role finalizes seasonal workforce hiring, onboarding, and carries out business strategies. The General Manager serves as a steady and trusted leader through change, guiding teams through evolving business needs with confidence, professionalism, and emotional intelligence while fostering trust and resilience across the organization.
The General Manager serves as a member of the Food & Beverage Leadership Team, providing leadership across all Stevens Pass Food & Beverage operations and partnering with fellow leaders to advance departmental priorities.

Job Responsibilities:
Guest Experience
- Champion a guest-first culture by creating welcoming, memorable experiences throughout the operation.
- Ensure all guest-facing spaces remain clean, organized, presentation-ready, and reflective of Stevens Pass hospitality standards through daily operational walkthroughs.
- Actively evaluate guest feedback and implement solutions that improve satisfaction and loyalty.
- Execute seasonal activations, après programming, entertainment, and special events in partnership with resort leadership and Marketing.
Operations & Execution
- Lead seasonal Food & Beverage operations, ensuring transitions, staffing readiness, training execution, inventory, and operational continuity across all business cycles.
- Lead with a safety-first mindset, fostering a culture of accountability and care for both food safety, employee and guest safety.
- Own the full P&L performance of the operation, driving revenue growth and operational excellence through strategic labor planning, inventory management, purchasing, merchandising, menu execution, and continuous operational improvement while aligning resources with business demand, financial objectives, and guest expectations.
- Support resort and corporate initiatives through effective execution of strategic partnerships, operational programs, and continuous improvement efforts that enhance business results and guest experience.
Financial Performance
- Manage the financial performance of Tye Creek Lodge by overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and P&L analysis while identifying risks, opportunities, and corrective actions to achieve business objectives.
- Lead inventory, financial, and compliance controls through Vail Resorts policies and systems, ensuring accurate inventory counts, invoice processing, transfers, waste management, storage organization, audit readiness, and operational reporting while maintaining financial integrity, controlling labor costs, and preventing unapproved overtime.
- Ensure proper payroll administration, timecard review, and gratuity distribution.
- Develop and oversee labor schedules that align staffing levels with business demands, labor targets, guest service expectations, and operational needs while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws.
- Drive revenue growth and operational excellence through strategic labor management, workforce planning, scheduling, purchasing practices, menu strategy, product mix optimization, merchandising initiatives, culinary partnerships, and continuous improvement efforts while balancing guest and employee experiences.
People Leadership
- Build and lead high-performing teams by recruiting, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and developing seasonal employees, and Assistant Managers while fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, engagement, and operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of transparency, engagement, and accountability through consistent communication, clear expectations, regular communication, daily stand ups, performance management, recognition, one on one weekly coaching, feedback, and progressive discipline when appropriate.
- Develop leadership bench strength through succession planning, mentorship, and skill development that support long-term organizational growth.
- Ensure compliance with all training, certification, and development requirements by maintaining accountability for Vail Resorts learning plans, LIFT training, safety programs, regulatory certifications, and operational standards while promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Attend Resort and Department meetings and best practice groups
Resort Partnership
- Partner closely with Mountain Operations, Base Operations, Skier Services, Retail, Rentals, Ski School, Marketing, and other resort teams to deliver seamless guest experience.
- Demonstrate a One Team mindset by supporting resort-wide initiatives, special events, and peak operational periods.
- Serve as the primary operational leader for Tye Creek Lodge during changing business conditions, weather events, and peak visitation periods.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships by collaborating with resort leadership, support departments, and operational teams to align priorities, solve problems, and support business objectives.
Job Requirements:
- 5 years previous food and beverage management experience
- WA MAST certification and WA Food Handler certification
- Intermediate computer skills with demonstrated proficiency with: Microsoft Office Suite, POS software, ordering software, Time & Labor software
- Participative, led by example management style with hands-on work ethic
- Ability to attend work in winter weather environment
The expected pay range is $80,168.40 - $84,757.00 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
