Job Summary
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of electrical systems and equipment. This position supports the safe and reliable operation of facility infrastructure by performing electrical work in accordance with applicable codes, safety regulations, and company standards.

Job Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repair
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and controls.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical distribution systems and equipment.
- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical wiring, circuits, switches, breakers, and related components.
- Respond to electrical service requests and equipment failures in a timely manner.
- Maintain motors, motor controls, transformers, generators, and lighting systems.
Installation & Projects
- Install, modify, and upgrade electrical systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Run conduit, pull wire, terminate electrical connections, and install electrical devices.
- Assist with facility renovations, equipment installations, and capital improvement projects.
- Coordinate work with contractors, vendors, and other maintenance personnel as required.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow OSHA regulations, NEC requirements, NFPA 70E standards, and company safety policies.
- Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and established safe work practices.
- Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Identify and report safety hazards and corrective actions.
Facility Support
- Support facility operations by maintaining reliable electrical systems.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for energy savings and system improvements.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and facility occupants regarding electrical issues and project status.
- Participate in emergency response activities as required.
Required Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of electrical maintenance, construction, commercial, or industrial electrical experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, motors, lighting systems, and power distribution equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician License.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- NFPA 70E training or certification.
- Experience with BAS, PLCs, and VFDs.
- Experience using CMMS.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
- Ability to distinguish colors for electrical wiring identification.
Working Conditions
- Commercial, industrial, institutional, and manufacturing environments.
- May require on-call, overtime, weekend, or holiday work.
- Exposure to energized electrical equipment, elevated work areas, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
- May be required to work during planned outages and emergency situations.
The expected pay range is $21.25/hr - $26.57/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
