Job Summary:

The Barback is responsible for providing prompt, friendly, and efficient support to the bartending team, ensuring the bar remains fully stocked, clean, and organized at all times. This physically demanding role requires a proactive approach and a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $20/hr
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2025/2026
  • Shift Type: Part Time hours available
  • Minimum Age: At least 16 years of age

Job Responsibilities:

  • Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and garnishes before and during service.
  • Change out beer kegs and ensure backup kegs are cold and ready.
  • Refill ice bins constantly throughout the shift.
  • Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries of alcohol and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock items to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all bar surfaces, tools, and equipment.
  • Collect used glassware and dishes from the bar top and tables, then wash and restock clean glassware.
  • Promptly clean up spills and safely dispose of broken glass.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the shift.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including mopping behind the bar and cleaning no-slip mats.
  • Prepare garnishes and simple syrups.
  • Anticipate bartender needs and assist with tasks like opening bottles or running drinks during peak hours.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, assisting customers with basic questions or directing complaints to appropriate staff.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs, potentially up to 160 lbs for kegs).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must meet the legal minimum age to work in an establishment that serves alcohol.
  • Certifications like ServSafe Alcohol or TIPS may be preferred or required.

 

The expected pay range is $20/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
