Job Summary:

Vail Resorts is hiring for two Vice Presidents of Lodging Operations roles:

 

  • VP Summit County (Keystone and Breckenridge) and Eagle County (Vail and Beaver Creek)
  • VP Park City, Tahoe (Northstar, Heavenly & Kirkwood), Northeast (Okemo, Mount Snow, Hunter & Liberty) and 7 Springs

The Vice President of Lodging Operations supports the Hospitality Division of Vail Resorts with the execution and oversight of hospitality operations. This position will serve as the direct reporting line for the markets' senior directors, general manager/property manager group and as the primary relationship manager for certain homeowner associations and other key external contacts. In addition, this individual will be responsible for the market’s operational and financial results and will be a key contributor to the development and leadership of the growth strategy for the Hospitality division.  This position will be based at one of the operating resorts within the scope of this role or the corporate office in Broomfield, CO and will report to the Vice President of Hospitality Operations – Enterprise.

  • The budgeted range starts at $181,100 - $225,000 + annual bonus + equity. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary support for the market senior leaders overseeing all lodging (except for third-party managed properties in the markets), food & beverage, golf and other ancillary business operations.
  • Responsible for all results of the hospitality markets, including financial, guest service, brand standards/quality control, employee experience, safety/workers compensation, and other operational measures.
  • Responsible for the growth of hotel and property management/rental management portfolio and services in the respective markets.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the organization, including mountain division, legal, sales, marketing, accounting, human resources, IT and other departments, to maintain and direct operations of the respective markets.
  • Maintain executive level relationships with vacation rental homeowners, HOA presidents and boards, and other external stakeholders.
  • Serve on boards in the local community based on needs and requirements.
  • Contribute as a core member of the Hospitality Operations Senior Leadership Team on a recurring and regular basis.
  • Lead and inspire employees to achieve maximum performance and potential through rigorous prioritization and resource allocation. Actively promote and enhance the company’s culture and vision through leadership and accountability for employee engagement.
  • Maintain high ethical and moral standards, serving as an example to the team.
  • Work on special projects as requested by the EVP/COO and VP of Hospitality Operations- Enterprise.
  • Work at all levels in the organization to identify innovative ideas and initiatives that will build value for the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • College degree, preferred degree in Hospitality Administration or equivalent work experience.
  • Seven years of leadership experience in hospitality operations and property management/vacation rentals.
  • Varied experience in ancillary operational leadership such as rooms, spa, food and beverage, golf or similar.
  • Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

 

 

The expected pay range is $181,100 - $225,000 + annual bonus + equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
