Job Summary:

Responsible for the creation, administration and quality of the training program for the Park City Mountain Ski & Snowboard School management and instructor staff. Responsible to design, publish, and manage the training curriculum, support our school website, the training materials/tools, and calendars. Leads and models delivery of training on-snow and indoors. Supports a positive employee culture based in creating and supporting developmentally minded individuals and teams. Support the daily operations during peak seasons or as needs arise. Works with other VRI peer(s) to manage, facilitate and assure the quality of the centralized training between the Schools. Reports directly to the Senior Director of Skier Services with heavy collaboration and support of base area Ski and Snowboard School Senior Managers. This role is a key leadership role within the Ski and Snowboard School at Park City Mountain and will contribute to the strategic and operational direction of the leadership team.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and administer staff training/education in all disciplines and age groups to assure the most positive internal and external guest experience. Showcase innovative techniques, service levels and methodology, and incorporate risk awareness and safety at all levels of training.
  • Continuously evaluate effectiveness of training content and methods from a guest and employee perspective to ensure exceptional guest experience and relevance.
  • Work with Health and Safety to develop and implement safety measures to improve overall safety of instructors and guests.
  • Work with the School Senior Director and Senior Managers to guide and facilitate the direction, culture and quality of the Ski & Snowboard School.
  • Design, orchestrate, and facilitate Trainer's Training.
  • Maintain contacts with external presenter/trainers and develop/search for new presenters to deliver trainings. Book dates, negotiate fees, arrange venues, handle logistics, A/V, etc.
  • Collaborate with school management to design and facilitate fall and on-going Management Team training.
  • Manage the Lead Trainers and Instructor Trainers. Help foster positive culture and morale across the School.
  • Ensure teamwork, efficiency and consistency of systems across ODs working with the Senior Managers and Managers/Supervisors.
  • Be a role model for excellence in training, coaching, leading and communicating. Actively work with PSIA/AASI acting as a liaison for the school and its employees.
  • Assist with the development and management of budget according to corporate guidelines.
  • Oversee the publishing of all written training materials/tools. E.g. teaching handbooks, Private Lesson Guidebook, all hiring materials, etc... Work with ASEA for publishing and content of Handbooks.
  • Supervise and manage both Ski and Snowboard Training
  • Heavy collaboration with the Hiring team to coordinate hiring and onboarding of instructors
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Qualifications:


  • High school diploma
  • 5+ years of experience as a ski and/or snowboard instructor & trainer
  • PSIA/AASI Clinic leader/examiner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Fluent in written & spoken English
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational abilities
  • Strong leadership presence and impact


  • Previous supervisory/management experience
  • Public speaking experience
