The Senior Director of Skier Services at Park City will drive the success of the Ski and Snowboard School, Activities, and the Guest Services team. Reporting to the VP and COO of Park City, this role is expected to deliver an Experience of a Lifetime to guests and employees. Specific strengths and focus areas of the role include leadership and development of large teams; excellent financial and business acumen; strong communication and networking skills, an enterprise-mindset and a safety-first value. The Senior Director is both a resort-oriented leader, and serves as an enterprise Vail Resort’s leader, developing, influencing and driving execution of company-wide initiatives across 42 resorts. As a member of Park City’s Senior Leadership Team, the position is critical in the development, communication and implementation of Park City’s and Vail Resorts goals & initiatives. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Job Responsibilities:
· Direct and monitor the Ski and Snowboard School, Activities and Guest Services department’s service delivery to ensure exceptional employee and guest experience, alignment with Resort and Company goals, financial success, and development of future products/programs.
· Work with Park City Mountain Managers and Supervisors to ensure accountability for the exceptional quality and delivery of products and services for the guests and employees.
· Effectively partner with the Vail Resorts VP of Ski School and Ski School Directors on development and execution of enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, best practice sharing and application including program offerings; safety initiatives; instructor training, etc.
· Develop and support talent strategies and succession planning to align with cross-functional needs. Provide feedback, growth opportunities, leadership opportunities and appropriate training to develop Ski and Snowboard, Summer Activities and Guest Services leaders.
· Drive an exceptional safety culture. Driving best practice in the all products and services across the resort.
· Bring the external world in: Leverage best practices, new ideas, and use outside in thinking for constant improvement, transformation and reimagination to grow the business.
· Actively partner and engage with industry leaders and community partners.
· Lead and influence with data; draw and articulate clear narratives from data sets.
· Monitor and maintain quality and appearance of people and facilities.
Job Qualifications:
Required:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 10+ years of ski and ride industry experience · At least 5 years of experience as a full-time ski/snowboard instructor
· At least 5 years of experience as a Ski School General Manager
· Current PSIC/CSIA level 3 certification, or the international equivalent to this certification
· Strong business acumen, including experience owning a full P&L and oversight of a multimillion-dollar operating budget
· Comfortable driving cultural change management · Experience supporting and working with Company Leadership in a business environment
· Works effectively at the Executive level and with leadership teams across the organization
· Experience with analyzing information and data to make decisions
· Experience in leading and assessing high-potential talent
· Applies systems thinking to generate new thoughts and opportunities; has ability to build on strategic and innovative thoughts/ideas
· Continuously adapts to changes and effectively navigates through ambiguity; decides and acts without having the picture totally defined; appropriately changes one’s strategy in response to new information
· Strong written, computer, and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
· Previous guest service experience
Preferred:
· College/University degree in related field
· Previous experience as a Ski School Director
The expected pay range is $110,000 - $160,000 + annual bonus + equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
