Lead Product Sales and Services – Winter Seasonal

 

Starting November 15th, all employees must be fully vaccinated to work for Vail Resorts.

 

The Lead Product Sales & Services (PSS) is part of the PSS Department and will be responsible for managing daily operations of Ticket and Pass Sales Offices.  The Lead is responsible for providing an “Experience of a Lifetime” to both our internal and external guests. This is achieved through a focus on delivering a high quality of guest interaction, training, continued staff development and performance feedback, teamwork, communication, guest relations, administrative duties, and self-development.  We are looking for guest service and team development orientated individuals who are positive, outgoing, operate with a high level of computer proficiency, have a passion for the outdoors, well disciplined, take pride in their work, support their teams and enjoys having fun at work.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Fully understand and supervise sales of Season Pass products, Ski and Ride School, and Lift Ticket product offerings in order to provide guidance to staff and guests; anticipating needs.
  • Effectively demonstrate the ability to learn, understand and communicate well with the guest about multiple product types, make suitable recommendations on products to meet the guests’ needs and can easily adapt to changing pricing/product offerings.
  • Overseeing all opening/closing and sales functions in a fiscally accurate and timely manner, complying with and fully implement all regulations (policies and procedures)
  • Escalate any audit concerns and questions to a manager to rectify issues in a timely manner.
  • Strong understanding of underlying Point of Sale (POS)/scanning systems and product functionality in order to efficiently answer questions and resolve issues.
  • Ability to supervise a high volume of customer interactions while delivering exceptional internal/external service.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems arising from guest dissatisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain sales facilities, equipment, and inventory.
  • Outdoor Leads supervise fulfillment of advanced online purchase orders using mobile devices at all sales locations.
  • Ensure our PSS staff is exceeding the expectations of our guest and adhering to Vail Resort Values.
  • Manage staff schedules, breaks and meal periods based on business volume/needs.
  • Provide on-going job performance feedback and coaching to staff in the moment, complete bi-weekly snapshots, mid-season and end-of-season performance appraisals.
  • Maintain and manage the professional appearance, time and attendance record among your PSS Pod Team.
  • Create a positive and professional work environment/experience for teams while communicating in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Willing to cross-train and work in all areas/locations of PSS.
  • Willing to take on additional tasks as assigned.
  • Contribute to and conduct Morning Meetings.

 

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age; High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Prior Guest Services experience Preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; work on a computer with a high degree of accuracy and efficient speed.
  • Ability to quickly learn, make decisive decisions, and follow all policies and procedures.
  • 2-4 years sales experience.
  • Experience supervising a staff of 5 or more preferred.
  • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.  Minimum 35 hours/week.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be available to work other PSS base area operations.
  • Must be able to withstand 6 or more hours of intermittent standing or walking in an 8-10 hour workday. 
  • Must be able to handle exposure to inclement weather; bending, lifting and squatting.
