The Lead Cook supervises food preparation, production and quality while performing a variety of kitchen management functions, including ordering, delegating tasks to prep cooks, and ensuring safety and sanitation protocols are being followed
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) at all times.
- Supervise and assist with setting up and stocking work areas with all necessary food, supplies and equipment
- Provides day-to-day work direction to team members to ensure production of quality food
- Directs and assigns tasks to entry/prep cooks as provided by the Chef:
- Ensures menu items completed by specific time
- Supervises and assists with the proper plating of all meals.
- Ensures that foods are maintained at proper temperatures for serving.
- Monitors all foods for quality of taste, texture and appearance.
- Organizes so that on days off prep cooks can complete tasks
- Have product they need; complete recipes with consistency and high quality
- Enforcing Brand Standards, policies, procedures and station sanitation standards
- Ensure that established health and safety procedures are followed.
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- High School education or equivalent; and/or training in a culinary arts school
- 2-4 years of professional cooking experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
- Broad base of professional cooking knowledge and skills, including restaurant kitchen operations; previous supervisory experience preferred but not required
- Good administrative, math and supervisory skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
The budgeted range starts at $20 - $24. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
