Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the service area and work with the Manager and assist in implementing and supporting all policies and procedures throughout the restaurant
  • Train staff to perform to their expected capabilities; train staff to answer telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
  • Ability to fill requirements of the Culinary Managers in their absence
  • Responsible for efficient and accurate cash transactions for culinary service staff
  • Understand, comply and carry out Vermont State Health and Liquor Control Regulations necessary, as well as, their implementation
  • Responsible for the dress code, appearance and business ethics illustrated by staff
  • Handle and count cash including credit card receipts
  • Responsible for serving tables with proper table service when applicable
  • Responsible for set-up and breakdown of service area and the checking of the rest of staff
  • Oversee culinary services staff
  • Work with the Culinary Manager in planning and scheduling manpower, equipment and supply requirements for the department and maintain accountability for cost, utilization and performance of employees and equipment
  • Work with the Culinary Manager and assist in implementing and supporting all policies and procedures throughout the club
  • Assist in implementing controls and monitoring for the Culinary Department
  • Actively participate in the Safety and Guest Service Programs of Okemo Mountain Resort
  • Ensuring that very high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and proper set-up of dining room, bar and other culinary facilities are maintained
  • Responsible for dress code, appearance and business ethics illustrated by staff
  • Handle and count cash including credit card receipts
  • Understand, comply and carry out Vermont State Health and Liquor Control Regulations necessary, as well as, their implementation

Skills:

  • Ability to understand and fulfill the Principles, Dream, Plan and Values of Okemo Mountain Resort
  • Ability to carry out company’s expectations of guest service both internally and externally
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, in close proximity to team members
  • Guest service oriented and possession of strong organizational, mathematical and interpersonal skills, communication, both  verbal; including phone skills and written, general mechanical skills and computer literacy
  • Good judgment skills as they relate to Vermont Liquor Laws, as well as, serving the public in a courteous manner
  • Ability to pour liquor with accuracy, knowledge of mixology a must
  • Strong knowledge of mixed drinks, with general knowledge of wines and good salability

 

Physical Demands (to include, but not limited to the following):

  • Ability to stand and bend for extended periods of time (8-10 hours/day), as well as, frequent overhead reaching
  • Ability to lift, stock and rotate cases of liquor, as well as move kegs
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds (medium lifting)
  • Ability to work on computer systems, cash systems, and retail systems

Certifications/Diplomas/Prerequisites:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Additional course work/degree in hospitality related field
  • Two to four years relevant food service experience
  • Hold and maintain Vermont Liquor Board certification
