Job Summary: 

The Child Care Lead Educator is responsible for working in a cohesive teaching team, coordinating curriculum and managing the day-to-day activities of the classroom.  They must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed.  The Lead Educator must be skilled in communication with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children effectively guide, assisting teachers and support relationships with families.  This position will comply with all company an department policies along with following all state licensing regulations. 

 

Job Specifications: 

  • Starting Wage: $22.50/hr - $32.14/hr  

  • Employment Type: Year Round  

  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available 

  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
  • Plan individual and group activities to actively engage children and encourage social, emotional, and cognitive growth
  • Comply with all State Regulations including required training and education
  • Diaper children, assist in toilet training
  • Conduct parent meetings and communications and child assessments
  • Evaluate children for proper development
  • Supervised by Assistant Manager and Manager
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children
  • Supervise assisting teachers to ensure they follow planned activities, hygiene and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure quality improvement and meet state regulations

 

Job Requirements: 

A Teacher is at least twenty (20) years of ae and meets one of the following qualifications. 

  • At least a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Four (4) A or B Certificate; or
  • At least a bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, Special Education with a birth to eight years of age focus, or Child and Family Services and at least twelve months experience working with groups of children from grade three or younger; or
  • At least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with at least successful completion or thirty college credits with an early childhood or school age focus and at least twelve months experience working with groups of children from grade three or younger; or
  • Hold at least a current Vermont Agency of Education teaching license with an endorsement in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary Education.

 

The expected pay range is $22.50/hr - $32.14/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
