Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager for Employee Housing position is responsible for overseeing the Northeast housing portfolio. This individual will help execute the Employee Housing strategy to ensure support of our current and future business needs. The Assistant Manager will help guide Employee Housing ensuring alignment to provide an Experience of a Lifetime, which includes creating a safe, inclusive, vibrant and affordable housing environment that is compliant with all regulatory requirements. This individual will help partner with multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including business leaders, employees, vendors, and community resources.

Job Responsibilities:
- ADMINISTRATIVE/OFFICE
- Ensures that lease/license files are complete and that completion of leases/licenses is being executed properly
- Manages the property office, including scheduling staff to ensure office hours are maintained, as well as managing the overall organization and functionality of the office. This includes ordering property and office supplies, as needed
- Participates in regional and department-wide meetings, as necessary
- Maintains records on all aspects of management activity on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Submits required reports to corporate offices on a weekly and monthly basis
- Assist in managing software training programs for local resort and ensure standard use of the system, including identifying and troubleshooting any system related issues and escalates as needed
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of their employee housing portfolio, bed allocations / offers and placements
- Manages external relationships with master leases, community partners, mental health resources and law enforcement
- Manages internal relationships including local Housing Teams, Navigators, Housing Liaisons, HRBPs, Managers
- Creates and maintains relationships with residents’ managers and housing liaisons to enhance the employee and manager experience related to housing
- FINANCIAL
- In conjunction with the Manager, the Assistant Manager will assist in formulation of budgets for each upcoming calendar year. The Assistant Manager is responsible for staying within the established budget guidelines throughout the year
- Actively maintain and report monthly variances and narratives
- Ensures that all license fees are collected when due, and posted in a timely manner
- Ensure accounts are correctly settled and refunds are processed to past residents in a timely manner
- Liaise with Facilities & Housekeeping team to support work order system, maintain accurate billing, vendor relations and job completion. The Assistant Manager is responsible for approving and submitting all invoices to corporate office for payment
- In conjunction with the Manager, the Assistant Manager will make rental rate recommendations in alignment with the Employee Housing Department vision
- HUMAN RESOURCES
- Hires, trains, motivates and supervises on-site team in order to achieve operational goals of assigned community. This includes ongoing formal and informal performance evaluation, review and approval of timesheets, instructing and advising on-site team of employee procedures and guidelines
- Responsible for the training needs for Housing Office team. This includes all onboarding and new employee orientation, as well as on-going training and professional development with office staff; e.g., standard operating procedures, workplace safety, StarRez operations and any other type of training that may be needed
- Provides comprehensive feedback to non-performing employees. Facilitates disciplinary procedures and documentations up to and including terminations of employment, if necessary
- Manage and deliver standardized, best-practices, across the enterprise aligned with an enterprise-wide strategy
- Support and execute on the employee housing strategy driving Vail Resorts short- and long-term business needs
- RESIDENT RELATIONS
- Maintain a positive customer service and employee value proposition at the forefront of all interactions and maintain a high level of visibility within the housing community
- Initiate and implement policies/procedures to maintain resident communications; e.g., complaints, service requests, etc.
- Support the employee wellness strategies in Employee Housing ensuring alignment with VR vision and values
- Ensure clear communication with all stakeholders including VR leadership and housing teams and residents
- Create a safe, fun and diverse housing culture that helps provide employees an experience of a lifetime
- Responsible for residents signing legal documents
- Elevate experience for residents/employees and housing staff while driving the seasonal Employee Value Proposition
- SAFETY
- Reports all liability and community incidents to the corporate office immediately
- Ensures that all workers’ compensations claims are reported and proper paperwork is completed
- Completes all pertinent safety checklists in conjunction with maintenance team
- Completes weekly Health & Safety inspections in
- ENABLON
- Conduct all business in accordance with VR policies and procedures. Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other Federal and State laws.
- MAINTENANCE
- Physically walk and inspect community on a regular basis and ensure unit readiness, as needed
- Coordinates with maintenance and make-ready staff to ensure timely condition of apartments after move-out
- Work closely with Maintenance team to monitor and schedule all maintenance activity.
- OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Job Qualifications:
- Prefer 3 years of experience in housing and/or on-site property management.
- Must have background in supervision and successful track record of accomplishments.
- Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required, Housing Database skills, and StarRez experience is a plus.
- Must be available on nights and weekends for staffing needs and emergencies, when necessary.
The expected pay range is $52,000 - $63,814. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
